Chapter 8 A Run In The Woods
- Xavier's Pov.
- “Get out,” I told her; she was making the way, I think, clouded. I needed to think.
- The moment she was out of sight, I went into my office to think.
- Immediately I entered, the door opened, and there was only one person who could open my door without knocking.
- “Haden, what do you want?” I asked him without looking up.
- “You can't even ask how I've been? I just got back, man; say something nice to me.” Haden said, and I scoffed.
- “I'm not in the fucking mood, man.”
- “Does this have anything to do with the banging lady that I saw coming out of your room just now?” He asked, and I was sure that my glare could pierce through a fucking wall.
- “Don't you fucking talk about her like that,” I said before I could stop myself.
- ”Wait, is she….” He uttered and trailed off.
- I deadpanned at him when he trailed off.
- “Is she a what? A rogue? An enemy of this pack? Someone who could be working with the Rogue King? Yes, yes, and fucking yes, Haden.” I told him.
- “She seems to have you messed up, man. What happened while I was away, though?”
- “Nothing happened, and nobody has messed up. Rogues trespassed, and we did the normal things that we normally do,” I told him.
- “Including making her your maid?” Haden asked.
- “I did it to keep a close eye on her,” I told him, trying to convince myself of that fact too.
- “Oh yeah? Is that how you make every rogue your maid?”
- I glared at him.
- “I'm sorry, I'm just asking, you know.” He raised his hands in mock surrender.
- *So she's your mate.” He said, and I glared at him again.
- “She's a fucking rogue man,” I told him.
- “I've told you about the way you treat rogues; not all of them are your fucking enemies, man,” Haden said.
- She was just a fucking rogue. Simply because she couldn't be anything else.
- I had already decided on my Luna, given that she matched all the roles. Due to pressure from the elders and council, I had to get into a relationship with Alicia two years ago, and she's everything the pack wanted. I had every intention of asking her to be the interim Luna.
- “That is not your business, Haden.”
- “Is she your mate?” He asked with a voice that had a sudden authority that I didn't like.
- I stared at him, not wanting to give in, to admit to the fact that she was my mate. I didn't want to speak those words; speaking them would make them accurate; it would make them a reality, and j wasn't ready to face the fucking truth.
- “Is she?” He repeated the question. He was keeping his eyes fixed on mine.
- In no way, shape, or form could a rogue be the next Luna of this pack. No matter how intriguing she was, no matter if I wanted to sketch to rip her clothes off and discipline her smart fucking mouth. Maybe when her mount is stuffed with my cock, she will learn to keep quiet.
- My hatred for their kind went beyond her, and if she could lead me to the Rogue line, her job would be done. I couldn't trust her with anything else; rogues were unlawful, wicked, and cruel, serving only the master themselves.
- “You're my best friend, Haden. I made you the beta of this pack because I know you're capable and because I trust you with my life.” I clearly said as my eyes frosted. “But if you don't keg this go, we are going to have a problem.”
- After another few seconds, he dropped his gaze.
- “I'm sorry, My king.” He said.
- “I'm going for a run.” I said with a tone of finality in my voice. “ensure that the rogue is in my office when I get back.” I told him.
- I heard him sigh as I strode past him, leaving him to digest the weight of my decision.
- “Of course, my king.” He said.
- Once I was outside the building, I shifted and sprinted across the depths of the fields. The evening was swiftly changed tonight.
- The moonlight cast its ethereal glow over the landscape as I sprinted through the shadows.
- Why did it have to be her? I growled as I pushed myself forward, each step echoing my internal conflict as my paws hit the dirt and the wind shifted through my black fur. The night air, laden with the scent of pine and earth, provided a much-needed distraction from the problem I was running from.
- And the woman that consumed me and my whole being. The woman I had just met not too long ago but she had made me feel more than I have felt in years; that fact scared me.
- I didn't know what the moon goddess was trying to do right now or what she was thinking, but it better not be firm with me ending up with that rogue because I am sure that she knows that I hate rogues.
- I can't be mated to one.
- This particular one just made me go insane. Could it be because she wasn't what I would not ally go for?
- I didn't go for women on the bigger side, and I usually went for the slim ones.
- She was the polar opposite of my type; she was big everywhere, and I fucking liked it. The way her titties jiggled each time she walked and her fucking ass, oh God.
- I was so fucked. Extremely fucked, because there was a woman in my pack that was my mate, and her kind was my worst nightmare. Instead of me rejecting her and banishing her from this pack, I am here, thinking about how hot she looked.
- The wind and the fresh air were not even giving me the solace I came to find. I needed to forget how soft her skin felt against mine. That was why I came out here, but all I could think about was how I wanted to touch her again.
- I hoped to the goddess that she would prepare me for whatever was coming because I just had that feeling that this woman had come t
- o wreck me.
- What it didn't prepare me for was the scene I had to witness when I got back.
