Chapter 4 A Maid To The King

  • Honey’s pov.
  • It felt like the air ceased, his voice was so fucking powerful, and it felt like even the plants and trees followed his voice. His voice sounded like a thunder searing through the night.
  • “I did, King, she misspoke.” The prick that hit me said; his voice felt like jelly; he was scared, and the fact alone made me happy.
  • “She misspoke? She's a fucking woman, and I made all of you swear that you would never hit a woman; they will rile you up with words, but the fact that you're a man means you can ignore her; that's what makes you a man. Shooting her has shown you have no control and don't belong among my warriors.”
  • “I'm sorry, my king.” He said. I liked that he was scared of the fate he was about to meet.
  • “Come here.” The king said and gestured for him to come closer; he knew he had no choice.
  • He walked towards his death with his legs.
  • When he got to the king, he knelt, and the king looked at him from where he was standing; the prick on the floor started sobbing, and I shook my head. He wasn't a man; a man would not cry in front of death.
  • The king hissed as he brought his class out and used it to slit his throat; I heard a few squeals from the women, and his body fell down the stairs to the ground.
  • “That's just a reminder for the rest of you: don't you ever raise your hands to a woman.” He told them.
  • “Yes, king.” The men said.
  • “Now take them all away.” He said, and I sighed in relief; I could finally breathe, but his presence made breathing difficult.
  • We were all moving when his voice came out again.
  • “Except her.” He said, pointing at me, and my heart dropped.
  • What did he want with me now? I didn't want to have anything to do with this man.
  • “Where would you like us to station her king?” The commander asked.
  • “Give her to the head maid at the patch house; she will be my maid.” He said, and my jaw dropped.
  • A maid?
  • “I would like to follow the rest of the women, king,” I told him, biting a bit harshly.
  • He stalked towards me, venom in his eyes. I should be scared, and I am afraid; I don't just know the problem with my mouth.
  • “You're in my land now, princess, and you will do whatever I tell you to do.” He said, his eyes boring into mine.
  • I stared at him, trying to look intense and not intimidated.
  • “I'll do whatever the fuck I want,” I told him, and I could see the battle his wolf was having to take control. His wolf wanted to take over, and I stalked back a bit; I remembered that he was not an average wolf.
  • But a freaking lycan, no matter how powerful an average wolf was, it was not possible to take on a lycan.
  • “Why don't you try doing that here, princess?” He called me, and I scoffed.
  • When I didn't say anything else, which has been the smartest thing I have done since I got here, he waved at the guards.
  • “Escort her to the head maid. Tell her to make sure she is well informed about her duties.” He told them, and they replied to him.
  • Two guards were at my front, leading me, and two were at the back. Right now, I was scared and frustrated.
  • I wanted to stay with the women and the kids to check on them and see how they were doing.
  • By the time we got to the pack house, I was shocked. Even at my old pack, the pack house was not this gigantic and full of life. This looked beautiful. I thought as I was escorted to the said headmaid.
  • They finally stopped when we got to the kitchen.
  • “Good evening, head maid; the king told us to bring her to you; she needs to be given the maid position for the king.” The guard said; she looked me up and down and then nodded.
  • “You can leave.” She waved them off. They left, and I was the only one standing there.
  • I'm not one to be intimidated by a woman, no matter how feared she is, so I looked her dead in the eyes and made sure she knew I wasn't scared.
  • Maybe I was a little bit intimidated by just one man, perhaps just a little bit.
  • “Name.” She asked while busying herself with the dish.
  • “Honey,” I replied to her.
  • “I mean your actual name.” She asked.
  • “Honey,” I told her again, and she nodded.
  • She looked at me again weirdly, like I had something on my face.
  • “I'm sorry, but do I have something on my face?” I asked her.
  • “Yeah, you do. On your body, you stink, and I'm wondering why the king would want you to be his maid.” She said, and I looked down and remembered the little stunt I tried to pull.
  • Of course, it wouldn't have affected him; after all, he was the lycan king, and his smelling sense would be much stronger than a regular wolf; maybe it would have worked if it was a regular wolf.
  • “Oh yeah,” I replied.
  • “First off, you're going to shower, you'll be given your uniform, and you'll come back here, so I'll tell you everything you need to know about working for the king. Gloria, take her to the room.” She waved one of the girls over.
  • “Yes, head maid.” The lady said and bowed and started walking ahead of me.
  • I followed her, and I didn't fail to notice how people looked at me weirdly; I mean, I would look at myself the way I was. We finally got to the room, and she opened the door; the room was a bug one, and bunk beds were everywhere.
  • Okay, it was giving maid quarters.
  • “The bathroom is over there when you're done; I'll put your uniform on that bunk bed. It would be your bed.” She said, pointing at a lower bunk.
  • “Thanks,” I said.
  • “Can I get a towel?” I asked her, and she nodded.
  • I started removing my clothing, I dropped them on the floor, and I was left in my underwear.
  • “Here you go,” Gloria said, looking down. Her cheeks were flushed. Was this the first time she had seen a half-naked lady?
  • I asked myself and shrugged it off.
  • “Thank you very much,” I told her and started heading for the bathroom.
  • The bathroom was not wrong. Everything was in place. I quickly did my business, and when I was done, I returned to the empty room. I don't have panties or even jumpers that I can wear under the dress given to me.
  • I shook my head, and I guess I would have to tell the headmaid later.
  • I took the uniform, and thankfully, it wasn't small, but I hoped it would fit properly.
  • By the time I wore it, it was tight and short. I was comfortable in my body and skin, so I was not bothered by it. After all, it was what was provided that I wore.
  • By the time I was done, I had gone outside and traced the way to the kitchen; the moment I entered, I saw the head maid, and she beckoned for me.
  • “You'll need a more free gown. The guards won't work if they continue seeing you walking around in this.” She said, looking at the dress, and I shrugged.
  • “You're not one to talk a lot, are you?”
  • “No, I'm not,” I told her.
  • “All right, let's get to business. You're going to start your work now. The king hated tardiness, and he didn't like when his things were being tampered with; when you enter his room, check his laundry and wash them; after you're done with the clothes, iron them and place them on his bed, he prefers them himself.”
  • “After you're done doing that, clean everything, even if it's not dusty; he does not like to feel a speck of dust, but don't you move anything from his room? You'll give him his breakfast, lunch and dinner, respectively, at 10 am, 3 pm, and 7 pm. You'll give him fruits by 5 pm. That's everything you're doing; as long as you don't mess with his things, you're good.” She told me, and I nodded.
  • He must be a clean freak. He looked like one, or maybe a CK tell freak?
  • “Yes, ma'am,” I said.
  • “Good, now all you have to do is stand over there and wait for his dinner to be ready. He's eating late today because he had a meeting before this time. When you're not working for the king, you'll do other things like helping in the kitchen or the gardens.” She told me, and I nodded.
  • “Yes, ma'am,” I told her.
  • After a few minutes, I was given a tray of covered food.
  • “Now, that guard will lead you to the King’s chambers.” She told me, and I nodded.
  • I followed the guard to the room, and thankfully, it was not that far from the kitchen. When I arrived, the guard had left, and I was left to knock on the door.
  • I didn't hear any come in, and I figured he was not yet in his room. So I pushed the door open slowly and peeked in at first.
  • The room was dark. I entered slowly, and I used the dim light to guide me to the table in the room; I dropped the tray and looked around. It was given a bachelor pad, dark interiors and all.
  • I took a step, and my mind told me to leave.
  • I was about to turn and start going when a familiar voice halted me.
  • “What are you wearing?”
