• Unwillingly and unconsciously, I moved closer to him. Ready for my lips to connect with his when the door opened before Xavier turned, I heard a low growl coming from deep inside him. We both turned, and I felt him stiffen; when I glanced at him, I saw the shock fixed on his face as he looked at the man standing in the doorway.
