• "Brynn?..Brynn?" Alissa had called her name for her to take her bath, breaking Brynn’s thought; she had been lost in the clouds of her dark thoughts since the time they had landed.
• It took everything in her not to cry and scream out her frustration at Killian and just tell him the damn truth, but it was harder than she had thought.
• All the while on the trip back to the grey estate, she had locked herself way from him and was hesitant to even look at him without the guilt showing through as they were both in the car. She had hoped Killian wouldn’t notice that she was so apprehensive and guarded.
