Chapter 48 An Apology

• I stare into the eyes of the woman in front of me while they sparkle from the tears she is trying so hard to keep in. Just below them and her nose, her lips tremble, and her throat moves with each swallow she makes.
• Fuck. How could simply being touched like that reduce her to this? I knew part of it was my fault for the horrible thing I did to her in the beginning, but most of it was due to that bastard she was married to before she met me.
