Chapter 131 Prologue: Book Two

• I stand on the balcony of the tallest building in the city, the place that my friends should be but aren’t, staring at the dark sky above. Lightning flashes, travelling across it while thunder rumbles, shaking the ground beneath my feet, adding to the ominous feeling that is slowly growing in my heart.
• “Fuck,” I sigh, wrapping my arms around me as the worry that I’ve been trying so damn hard to keep at bay threatens to come forward. “I’m sorry.”
