Chapter 3 Day Three: Alpha Aiden's Punishment

  • Dear dairy, it's Day Three, and I am already getting tired of the Alpha's games with me.
  • The half shaped moon hung high in the sky, its pale light casting eerie shadows as I scrubbed the hallway floor on my hands, and knees. My bruised fingers were beginning to get raw, and more sore, with my back aching, but I didn’t dare complain. This was my punishment for spilling wine on Alpha Aiden. I heard the servants whimper as they passed me in the hallway. I was even lucky he hadn’t thrown me out of the pack altogether.
  • I bit my lip, my chest tightening at the memory of his cold eyes, the way his voice dripped with disdain. I wanted to hate him, to curse his name. But all I felt was shame... and something far more dangerous.
  • My heart fluttered slightly, while recalling the way his thumb brushed my lip. Even in his anger, his touch had been gentle, his fingers warm against my skin. I shook my head, disgusted with myself.
  • “How could I be so foolish? Alpha Aiden was cruel. Unreachable. He could never... would never…!” I had completed my statement when I felt a shadow over me. My body tensed up immediately, and my head snapped up to see who it was, and my heart sank.
  • Alpha Aiden stood above me, his golden eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. “He is still angry?” I wondered silently.
  • “Still working, I see.” His voice was calm, too calm. It made my blood run cold.
  • “Yes, Alpha,” I whispered, bowing my head. “I’ll finish soon.”
  • His boots moved into my line of sight, stopping inches from my trembling hands. “Look at you... on your knees, covered in filth. Right where you belong!” His words cut deep as usual, but I didn’t flinch. I knew better than to show weakness.
  • “Do you even know how to do anything right?” he continued, his voice dripping with contempt. “Or are you only good for crawling on the floor like a dog?” I swallowed the lump in my throat, my fingers curling into secret fists. “I... I’m sorry, Alpha.”
  • His boot nudged my hand, his voice lowering. “Pathetic.” He stepped around me, his presence suffocating.
  • “Why can't he just let me be?” I mumbled quietly
  • “Finish this. Then report to my study.” He said, and my heart dropped, fear washing over me.
  • “Y….Yes, Alpha.” He didn’t respond, his footsteps echoing as he walked away. I released the breath I didn’t know I was holding, my body sagging with relief. But it was short-lived, on remembering his instructions “What did he want with me in his study?”
  • I hurried to finish my chore, my mind racing with possibilities. Alpha Aiden’s punishments were legendary. He was ruthless, known for his temper, and unforgiving nature. The maids whispered about his cruelty, about how no one crossed him without paying a price.
  • “Was this my price for humiliating him?” Minutes later, I stood before his study door, my hands shaking as I knocked.
  • “Enter.” His voice was cold, and authoritative. I stepped inside, keeping my head bowed, my shoulders hunched.
  • The room was dimly lit, shadows dancing along the dark walls, benefiting a cruel alpha like him.
  • Alpha Aiden sat behind his massive desk, his posture relaxed, but his eyes calculating as if waiting for me to make another mistake before pouncing on me. I swallowed back my fear, silently waiting for his next instructions.
  • He looked like a king on his throne, and I was nothing but a peasant before him.
  • “Close the door.”I obeyed swiftly, my heart pounding as I faced him. His golden eyes were sharp, his face unreadable.
  • “Do you know why you’re here?”
  • I nodded, my voice small. “For... for spilling the wine, Alpha. I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to…”
  • “Enough.” His voice was firm, silencing me instantly. “You embarrassed me. Made me look weak in front of my pack.” My chest tightened at his accusations
  • “I... I didn’t mean to... please... forgive me.” A cruel smile tugged at his lips.
  • “Forgive you?” He stood up, his powerful frame towering over me.
  • “Why should I?” I opened my mouth, but no words came. I had no excuse, no defense. I was at his mercy.
  • He circled around me slowly, his eyes cold, and still calculating.
  • “You’re a clumsy little maid... with no respect for her betters. Maybe I should teach you some obedience.”He said, and fear shot through me, my body going rigid.
  • “I... I’ll do better... I swear...” He stopped behind me, his breath warm on my neck.
  • “You think you can fool me?” His voice was a low growl, but it sent waves of sensation down my spine.
  • “You think batting those pretty eyes will earn my forgiveness?” My heart raced fast, my cheeks burning.
  • “N…No, Alpha... I would never...” But suddenly his fingers brushed my hair aside, with his lips hovering dangerously close to my ear.
  • “You’re weak, Aria…! Helpless! But there’s something about you...” His hand lingered on my shoulder, his touch searing through the thin fabric.
  • “Something... infuriatingly irresistible.” He kept on whimpering, and my breath caught, my knees going weak again. I didn’t understand his words, the way his fingers tightened on my shoulder.
  • “Was this my punishment? This cruel game?” Why does he like humiliating me?" I wonder slightly, only for him to pull away abruptly, his face hardening.
  • “Pathetic,” he muttered, his eyes cold once more. “You’re nothing but a weak little maid.” Anger flared in my chest, my fists clenching. I was tired of hearing that word. Weak. Worthless. Pathetic.
  • But before I could speak, his gaze darkened. “Get out of my sight... before I change my mind about letting you off easy.” And I fled without another word, my heart racing, my emotions in turmoil.
  • His words were cruel, his eyes cold... but his touch had been gentle. His voice, for just a moment, had wavered with something almost... vulnerable.
  • I didn’t understand him. I didn’t understand the heat that spread through me at his touch. The way my heart raced when he was near. It was dangerous, and forbidden. But my treacherous heart couldn’t seem to stay away. Away for this looming trouble
  • *******
  • Dear dairy, it's Day Four, and my weak wolf hasn't spoken to me, since day one.
  • The next morning, I silently did my chores. praying I could get through the day without crossing paths with any of the Alphas. But luck was never on my side.
  • I was dusting the grand staircase when a voice called out, playful, and teasing.
  • “Running away, little maid?” I froze, my heart sinking, I know that teasing voice. Alpha Axel leaned casually against the banister, his green eyes sparkling with mischief.
  • “N... No, Alpha,” I stammered, gripping the feather duster tight.
  • “I was just... doing my chores.” He grinned, his expression wicked, just like his brother Aiden.
  • “You’re always so serious, Aria. It’s almost cute.” My cheeks burned, my heart fluttering as he moved closer, his movements graceful, and cat-like.
  • “Tell me,” he drawled, his finger tilting my chin up, forcing me to meet his gaze.
  • “Why does Aiden hate you so much?” I swallowed, fear coiling in my stomach.
  • “I... I don’t know.” His eyes narrowed, his smile widening.
  • “Liar. I’ve never seen him so angry before. You must have done something to get under his skin.” I shook my head, panic rising from within.
  • “I didn’t... I swear...” His thumb brushed my lip, his touch warm, yet lingering.
  • “You’re a terrible liar, Aria.”I shivered again, my heart pounding as his fingers trailed down my neck, his touch feather-light.
  • “I think you’re hiding something,” he whispered, his lips dangerously close.
  • “And I’m going to find out what.” I stood frozen, trapped by his gaze, his touch. I didn’t understand him, his games, his teasing. He was dangerous, yet intoxicating.
  • And as his lips brushed my cheek, a mixed feeling of shiver of fear, and excitement raced through me. It seemed I was almost caught in his web. And there was no escaping it, from his schemes.
