Chapter 2 Day Two: Alpha Asher Kindness
- “Y…Your Highness,” I stuttered, totally frightened by his mere presence. My knees threatened to buckle on their own as I bowed down.
- “I... I’m so sorry for earlier...on” I tried to apologize again, but he didn’t respond, his eyes cold, as they raked over me. As if searching for something.
- “Look at me.” He commanded, but I hesitated, fear freezing me in place.
- “I said look at me,” He growled, his voice low, but dangerous. My head snapped up immediately, my heart thundering against my chest, as his gaze bored into me. I felt exposed, and vulnerable under his intense stare.
- “You embarrassed me,” he said, his voice in a deadly whisper.
- “In front of my pack…! in front of my brothers. Do you have any idea what that means?” He said coldly.
- “I... I didn’t mean to...” Suddenly he moved closer to me, his hand shooting out swiftly, gripping my chin with such surprising gentleness despite the anger in his eyes. He tilted my face up, forcing me to meet his gaze.
- “Pathetic,” he murmured softly, his eyes flickering with something I didn’t understand. “You’re just a weak little maid…! Why did the Moon Goddess even bother creating you?” His words cut deep into my heart, but it was the way his fingers lingered on my skin that made my heart racing fast. His thumb brushed over my shabby bottom lip, with his eyes darkening for a split second before he pulled away, then his face hardening like the alpha I have come to know him to be.
- “Stay out of my sight,” he snapped loudly before turning on his heel, and then walking away, his shoulders tense, and his fists still clenched.
- Slowly I sank to the floor, my legs trembling on his own accord. “What was that? One moment he was full of anger, the next... his touch had been gentle, almost tender. Unconsciously I touched my lips, heat flooding my cheeks as his words echoed in my mind. “Why did the Moon Goddess even bother creating you?”I shouldn't be angry with him? With his harsh words? Yet my emotions betrayed me, with a blushing cheek.
- It was a question I had no answer to.
- *******
- I spent the rest of the day cleaning, carefully doing my job as a maid, and doing my best to avoid Alpha Aiden or other Alphas. But, I couldn’t get his touch out of my mind, the way his eyes had softened for just a moment. But it was foolish to think about it. He was the Alpha... and I was nothing but a maid, just as he said.
- Lost in my own thoughts, I didn’t notice the figure leaning casually against the doorframe until it was too late. I gasped, almost dropping the stack of clean sheets in my arms.
- “Whoa, easy there,” Alpha Axel grinned, his green eyes sparkling with amusement.
- “You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” He said, still grinning at me.
- “Axel... I mean... Alpha Axel,” I stuttered, my cheeks burning. It seemed my weak wolf was right about being mated to the three of them, because I can't understand why my emotions soar high on seeing either of the Alphas.
- “I... I didn’t see you.” I snapped out of my thoughts.
- He laughed, his smile disarming. “Clearly?. Do I really look that scary?” I shook my head quickly, my hair falling into my face.
- “N…No, Alpha.”I said wondering what he wants with me now.
- Then he stepped closer, and I wished he never did. His scent slowly envelops me! It Makes me feel warm, spicy, and intoxicating! And to make matters worse, my knees went weak as he reached out, brushing the hair away from my face with a gentle touch.
- “You’re an odd one,” He murmured, his fingers lingering near my cheek.
- “The other maids won’t even look at me, but you…! You keep staring.”My heart stopped. He’d noticed?
- “I... I wasn’t staring...” I lied, but my voice wavered. His eyes sparkled with mischief.
- “Liar! He whimpered softly, and I kept quiet.
- “You were staring at me during the ceremony, weren’t you?” He leaned in, closer, his breath warm on my skin.
- “I saw you, you know.” My face turned crimson, on realizing that he caught me staring at him. Did the other Alphas know too?.
- “I... I was just... you were all so... so... impressive,” I managed to choke out, my voice barely above a whisper.
- His grin widened. “Impressive, huh?” His fingers traced a feather-light line down my jaw, and his touch sends shivers through me.
- “Does that mean you were impressed by me, or my brothers?”He asked, my heart skipped a beat, panic flashing through my eyes.
- “I... I didn’t mean it!” I said and he laughed softly at me, his eyes glimmering with amusement.
- “Relax, little maid. I’m just teasing.” He said, before stepping back a little bit, his expression softening.
- “You’re interesting, Aria. Very... interesting!.” He said, and I blinked, shock freezing me in place. “He knew my name? How...?” Before I could summon courage to ask him, he turned around sharply and walked away, his laughter echoing down the hall. “See you around, little maid.”
- I stood there, my heart racing, and my cheeks still burning with embarrassment. “My life was already complicated enough with Alpha Aiden’s troubles, but now Alpha Axel was paying attention to me too?” I pressed my fingers to my cheek, the warmth of his touch lingering.
- What was happening to me?.
- *********
- Dear dairy it's Day Two, it's seems you are the only companion I have.
- Two days later after the Alpha's return, I went to the garden, hoping to find some peace. But peace was a distant memory now. My life had been turned upside down since the triplets returned. Aiden’s harsh words, Axel’s teasing touch...and I was gradually drowning in a sea of emotions I didn’t understand.
- Suddenly, a soft voice broke through my thoughts. “Are you okay?”
- I looked up, my heart stopping as I found myself face-to-face with Alpha Asher. His eyes were gentle, his expression soft with concern.
- “I... I’m fine,” I lied, quickly looking away.
- He sat beside me, his presence a soothing comfort to my troubled soul.
- “You don’t have to lie. I saw what happened... with my brother Aiden.”
- My chest tightened. “I made him angry. It was my fault.”
- Asher shook his head, his gaze on my face, firm. “No. He shouldn’t have spoken to you like that.” He hesitated before reaching out, his hand brushing mine. “You don’t deserve to be treated that way.”
- His touch was warm, and his fingers gentle as they curled around mine. My breath quickened slowly, my heart pounding as I looked up, meeting his eyes. There was something in his eyes.. something raw, and honest that made my chest ache.
- “You... you’re kind,” I whispered, tears filling my eyes. “Too kind.”
- His thumb brushed over my knuckles, and his voice soft when he spoke up again. “No, Aria... you just don’t see your own worth.” He said while his face slowly inched closer to mine. With his lips hovering just above mine, his breath mingling with mine. My heart raced, and my world seems to be narrowing to this moment, to him. I closed my eyes, my body swaying toward his desire...
- “Aria!” Mina’s sharp voice shattered the moment. I jerked back, my heart plummeting as I realized what I was about to do.
- Alpha Asher’s hand fell away, his eyes shadowed with disappointment. “I’ll see you around, Aria,” he whispered before walking away, leaving me breathless, and longing for more.
- Quickly, I jumped on my feet, racing towards Mina.
- “What do you think you are doing, trying to seduce the alpha?” She asked coldly.
- “Seduce…of course I did not!” I replied only for her to drag my bristle hair roughly, heading straight for the kitchen.
- “It seems your workload isn't much, hence you have plenty of time to get cozy with my Alpha! A lowlife maid like you? A weak she-wolf, doesn't she deserve to die easily?" Keep on dragging me, the other maids stood watching, and smirking. Their eyes filled with disdain, and hatred.
- Suddenly she released her grip on my hair, I ended up flying to the ground. Laughter rings out immediately. Whining softly, I lowered my head to the ground.
- “Now, make sure you finish washing all these dirty plates, before dreaming of sleeping tonight! Do you understand?” She yelled at me.
- “Yes, Mina!”
- “What a fool, you are!" She hissed loudly before walking away. The rest of them did the same, leaving me alone. Cleaning my tears. I stood up to do my chore.
