Chapter 1 The Unseen Maid

  • ARIA POV
  • “Hi, diary! It a cool evening, and its day one, of the triplets alphas returning home, back to Blood Stone Pack. A pack which nobody paid attention to me, nor my existence because I was a maid barely saved saved from being an outcast. I don't even know who my parents are! I was told they got killed for betraying the deceased Alpha's trust. Today marked the journey of my life with the Alphas, and we'll, it was something worth jotting down. It all started on the first day of their arrival. It's a day I will never forget!”.
  • ******
  • I pulled the shabby hood much lower over my head, praying no one would notice me. The grand hall is buzzing with excitement, the pack is celebrating the return of the Alpha triplets after a successful war with a neighbouring pack. It was ‘DarkStone pack’ known for their cruelty, and the alpha's had put an end to it. I kept my head down, moving quickly between the guests, and balancing trays of food with long-term practiced ease. I was just a shadow, unseen, and unnoticed!. That was my place, and actually, I like it this way because it means less bullying, and troubles from the other pack members.
  • A loud cheer erupted inside the well decorated hall the maids have spend hours on, as they entered, the crowd parted the way for them like the sea.
  • Feeling curious, I dared to glance up, at least just for once. I have only heard about them, but never aw them closely. This would be a chance in a lifetime. Suddenly my breath seized up, on seeing them. They were more beautiful than what the escalated rumors said about them.
  • Aiden the second triplet. His fierce golden eyes scanned the room with the intensity of a predator waiting for his prey. His presence was suffocating and I could feel it. I wonder if the others did.
  • Axel, the last of the triplets. He has this easy going smile that charmed the she-wolves, with his arrogance radiating an aura of confidence.
  • And then Asher, the first of the triplets! His soft gaze made my heart flutter, his gentle expression was a cruel contrast to his brothers. Maybe that is why the moon goddess made him the first out of the three.
  • Quickly, I looked away, shame burning my cheeks. It was forbidden to even look at them. I was just a maid, an orphan with a weak wolf, barely worth the dirt beneath their boots. The Moon Goddess must have been secretly mocking me the day she created me.
  • Suddenly I felt a sharp elbow jabbed my side. “Stop dawdling, Aria,” Mina, one of the senior maids, hissed at me, her eyes going red with anger.
  • “We’re here to serve, not gawk shamelessly at Alphas, who would never look at the likes of you.” She said with a scowl, and I whined inwardly. Afraid of the troubles that comes after this.
  • “I…I’m sorry,” I stammered, forcing my feet to move. She was right, though. Dreaming was a luxury I couldn’t afford
  • I turned sharply, heading toward the kitchen, needing an escape from the intoxicating scent of power that radiated from them. But fate had other plans. Suddenly, my left foot caught on the edge of the clean carpet, and the tray flew from my hands, its contents hurtling straight toward the Alphas.
  • Time seemed to freeze, and I watched in horror as wine splashed across Alpha Aiden’s chest, staining his pristine white shirt. The hall went silent at once. All eyes turned to me, glaring at the clumsy maid who dared to offend an Alpha. My blood ran cold at once, afraid of what becomes of me, now.
  • Alpha Aiden’s golden eyes slowly turns to where I was still kneeling down, and locked on mine, his gaze feels so sharp that, it felt like a blade slicing through my skin. He took a step forward, his jaw clenched, his fists tightening at his sides, and I swallowed hard, my heart already out of my chest.
  • “You dare….” He did not finish his words, when I immediately crawled quickly toward him.
  • “I…I’m so sorry! Alpha” I dropped to my knees, frantically trying to clean the mess with trembling hands.
  • “Please forgive me, Alpha... I didn’t mean to...” I stutter, my eyes going blurry with tears, while everyone else watched on. His boot landed inches from my fingers, almost squeezing them into bones, and his presence suffocating to bear with.
  • “Pathetic,” he growled. “Can’t you even do your job right.” He said coldly, and then he squat down slightly right at my front, his face dangerously close to mine, and his scent intoxicating. Suddenly I heard a weak whimpers from my wolf.
  • “Mate!” I froze, but his next words brought me back to reality.
  • “You’re nothing but a worthless maid. Remember that.” He spit at me. My chest tightened with humiliation burning in my veins. I kept my head down, hiding the tears threatening to fall down.
  • “Enough, Aiden,” Alpha Asher’s gentle voice cut through the tension.
  • “It was an accident. Let her be.” He said, and I turned to look at him too.
  • “Mate!. They are all our mate! The three of them!” My wolf whimpers again in excitement. I hold back my sneer, wondering if being weak is getting on her more now, than ever. How can three powerful Alphas be my mates.
  • I raised my head up just in time to see Alpha Aiden’s jaw tightened, his eyes flickering with something unreadable, before he stood, brushing past me as if I were nothing more than a speck of dust.
  • I choked back a sob, the weight of shame crushing me. I knew my place. I didn’t belong in their world.
  • Yet, as Alpha Asher’s kind eyes lingered on me, a dangerous warmth spread through my chest. I quickly looked away, praying he didn’t notice the blush on my cheeks.
  • I couldn’t afford to dream. Not about him. Not about any of them. But little did I know that fates had already woven my destiny with theirs. And there was no escaping from it.
  • *********
  • I fled to the kitchen, my heart pounding so loud I was sure everyone could hear it. My unhealed bruised fingers trembled as I scrubbed the tray, the echo of Alpha Aiden’s harsh words ringing in my ears. “Worthless... nothing...” I bit my lip, fighting back tears. He was actually right. I was nobody.
  • “You’re lucky he didn’t even punish you,” Mina’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. She stood in the doorway, her arms crossed, her eyes filled with disdain. Sometimes, I wonder why she hates me so much! “Why do they all do it? Must I suffer for my parents' unknown crime?”.
  • “The Alphas don’t tolerate incompetence.” She slapped me hard, and I whined out from the impact of her rough, tough hands on my face.
  • “I’m sorry,” I whispered, keeping my eyes on the soapy water. “It won’t happen again.”
  • “It better not,” she sneered. “They could have you thrown out... or worse, get you killed just like your parents” She scoffed loudly before leaving, her words heavy with warning.
  • My chest slowly tightened as I scrubbed the dirty plates harder, the thought of being cast out chilling me to the bone. I had nowhere to go. No family, no friends. This pack, this mansion... it was all I had. I was nothing without it.
  • Suddenly, I felt a shadow fall over me. I looked up, my heart stopping as I met golden eyes blazing with anger.
  • “Alpha Aiden!”. He stood in the doorway, his arms crossed, and his posture rigid with barely-contained fury.
