Paige appeared embarrassed. Her voice grew softer as though afraid that somebody might hear her and ridicule her for it.
“I know you come from a rich family, Phina. You don't know how it feels to be poor. Do you know what I'll do with a million? I'll make sure my parents never have to worry again or help my brother get married. I could even start a career in something I actually enjoy. To tell you the truth, I love studying history. I once dreamed of being a history teacher after graduating, but my parents were against it as it would not earn enough to support them and my brother. Even before my graduation, they had already planned my life out for me. They want me to get a well-paying job. I'm feeling really afraid and lost, you know? I'm scared that I'll end up hating myself for who I might become.”
