“Zhang Chao, it’s too late to regret this now. I’ll never let you off... you just made me your worst enemy, and I’ll hunt you down, forever.” Chen Yuzhou anger seethed through his clenched teeth, as he spat out every single word with anger. He threatened me many times in the past already, and not once had he been this serious about it.
He continued, “Zhang Chao, I’ll never let you off, you, and everyone around you. You’re tough, I can’t do a thing to you, but what about others? What about everyone that you ever cared for? Don’t think, even for a moment, that you can protect all of them all at once. I have time, and I have resources. As long as I live, none of you can eat, work, and sleep in peace even for a day, so long as you remain in Tong City. I didn’t want to do this at first, but you leave me no choice. You brought this upon yourself.”
He clenched his jaws so forcefully that I can hear an uncomfortable grinding sound from his teeth.
Chu Xiaoxiao looked at me, then at Chen Yuzhou, with a worried look, but she didn’t know what to do.
“It isn’t like I’m afraid of him, but... he really seemed to have gone bonkers.”
Chen Yuzhou glared at me, and Chu Xiaoxiao fidgeted and switched between looking at me and Chen Yuzhou, and I kept my eyes on Chen Yuzhou. The three of us locked our eyes in a standoff, with one of us in a hang-off.
