Chapter 29 Twenty-nine

  • POV Isabella:
  • I open my eyes and pain shoots through my skull like lightning. My mouth tastes of blood and metal. I try to move, but the ropes dig into my wrists and ankles. I am tied to a rotten wooden column in a warehouse that smells of damp and garbage. The walls are covered in faded graffiti, and the high ceiling reveals beams rotted by time.
  • I don't need to ask who brought me here. In front of me, illuminated by the dim light coming through the broken windows, is my father.
