• POV Isabella:
• I do my best to keep my back straight and my expression neutral, but being around people always makes me more tense than usual. Under their watchful eye it's easier to make a mistake.
• The Castellano mansion is glowing tonight with bright lights and orchestral music. It's the tenth anniversary of the founding of their main casino, so all the important families of the city are here, including my father. They all pretend to be respectable businessmen while exchanging information about illegal shipments and disputed territories. I pretend too, as usual, but with a much deeper lie.
