Chapter 8

  • ISABELA’S POV
  • Marriage.
  • That was all I could think about after Ryan left the house. Was I ready for this? Can I be able to manage being married to a billionaire and school? Did I even need school at this point since I was already getting married to money.
  • I trooped back into the bedroom and lay on my head. I breathed heavily from the exhaustion of my own thoughts. I grabbed my phone and called Cario.
  • “Hello Cario.”
  • “Hello Bride!”
  • I rolled my eyes at the sound of that word. Bride.
  • “Please don’t call me that.”
  • “Well, you are the bride to be. I mean you are on every blog’s headline. You are a huge break on social media. Everybody is anticipating a wedding date…so when is it?”
  • I rolled my eyes even harder. This does not even sound right. I don’t think I would ever get used to being called bride or wife or Ryan’s woman.
  • “We don’t have a date yet. We are barely even getting along.”
  • “What? Why? He seems like a really nice person.”
  • “He is really nice, sweet and loving but you know I am just out of a serious relationship that almost wrecked me into pieces. I don't think I am ready for any relationship or marriage yet.”
  • “Well you know he is rich and everyone already thinks you are already dating, so you have to give the people what they want.”
  • “I really don’t know. I would think about it.”
  • “Oh please, think about what? Just fix a date and get married so I can be your head bridesmaid and meet rich and handsome groomsmen.”
  • I giggled. Cario has been single for as long as I've known her. She was not celibate though. She had a little history of messing around.
  • “I thought Mike wanted to take things to another level?”
  • “Oh, Mike. Nah, I don’t want a relationship with him. I am fine with just being friends with benefits.”
  • “Hmm, okay. Take your time. What about your Resume?”
  • “Yes, I forgot to tell you. I got accepted into a company. It is a Network Providing company and I would start working soon.”
  • “That is great news, babe! I am so proud of you, my love.”
  • “Thank you.”
  • “Welcome.”
  • “So have you heard from your step sister since?”
  • “Not really, she didn’t see me when I left the house. Maybe she is too ashamed to come to me. Or she feels what she did is right. maybe she is too busy taking care of her and Levi’s baby.”
  • “Hmmm, what she did was really dreadful but-“
  • “Isabella?!”
  • I hear the familiar voice from down the hallway, towards my room. It was Ryan and his voice was in a higher pitch than usual and it seems he was excited.
  • “Um, I will talk to you later, Cario. Ryan is home.”
  • “Okay, take care.”
  • “You too and break a leg in your new job.”
  • I ended the call and heard the room door open revealing the tall, handsome man I was beginning to get familiar with.
  • “You could have knocked before opening the door.”
  • “Good evening to you , Isabella.”
  • “Welcome back. How was your business affairs.”
  • “It went really well. I got you something.”
  • He brings out a pink and blue Hermes bag that looks like a million dollars. From the looks of it, I was immediately in love.
  • “This is beautiful, Ryan. Thank you. This is really thoughtful of you.”
  • “I am happy you like it. Maybe you can put on a matching dress and maybe we could go have dinner in a nice restaurant.”
  • “Hmm, I don’t know. I am already tired.”
  • “C’mon. You were indoors all throughout today. Come get some fresh breeze. It is a Chinese restaurant so you would also explore some new tastes.”
  • I thought about it for a minute. A date would not hurt. I was also starving.
  • “Okay, sure!”
  • “Yes!!!”
  • He clenched his fist and shook it, exclaiming out of joy.
  • “I will meet you in the car in ten minutes. Let me put on a nice gown.”
  • “You honestly don’t have to do too much. You are already very beautifully created.”
  • I blush and enter the closet. I was fashion oriented so it was not hard to find a cute pink gown, it was above my knee but it fitted me perfectly.
  • I got out of the closet and took the elevator to the back door, where the garage was and Ryan opened the door. The ride there was very quiet because neither of us wanted to start a conversation.
  • “Welcome sir and ma'am to Madam Rosy’s Chinese Restaurant. What would you like to order today?”
  • The young looking black waitress asked Ryan and I as she brought out a pen and paper.
  • “I would have the Chinese fried rice.”
  • “Just give me the Chinese fried noodles.”
  • She wrote down our orders and informed us that she will be back in a few minutes.
  • I looked around the Chinese themed restaurant, it had beads, contours and Chinese wallpaper decorations around. It was very beautiful. I loved the scenery and it had a particular scent of scented candles.
  • “So when do you think the wedding should be held?”
  • “Huh?”
  • I was not expecting that type of question. I was frazzled.
  • “You know we have a wedding to plan.”
  • My face entered an automatic default annoyance look. I was not ready to accept that Ryan is my new husband.
  • “Yes, maybe next year.”
  • “Hmm that is far. I have a surprise for you later tonight.”
  • I was interrupted from speaking when the waitress brought our food. It smelt so nice, I almost thought I was in China.
  • We started eating and finished after a couple of minutes. We called the waitress to come tidy up and before they brought in our bill list, the lights suddenly dimmed.
  • There was slow music playing and I could see some staff bring out a huge sign board with Will you be my wife boldly written on it.
  • They headed towards where we sat and that was when I saw Ryan on his knees.
  • Shit. Damn it!
  • I did not know what to say or do. I immediately got cold feet and I stared at the staff smiling at me with their big imprinted sign boards and the customers waiting for me to take the ring from Ryan.
  • The only thing I could think of was leaving. So I just stood up and ran to the streets. I entered and opened my phone to call Cario.
  • My eyes got stuck on what appeared.
  • ISABELLA THE HEARTBREAKER: She never loved Ryan. The marriage was never going to happen
  • It was the headline of the most famous blog in the city.
