• The nurses checked on me before leaving and the doctor said I would be discharged the next day because I was still placed under observation and there were a lot of samples and medical tests they were to carry on me.
• Visiting hours had ended but Declan sat beside me as though he belonged here. Like there was nowhere else he would rather be and maybe for the first time in a long time. I would let myself believe that someone would want to stay just for me.
