Chapter 86
- They ended the call. Jacobs didn't know if she was still mad at him or not. She hadn't made any direct statements that would review how she truly felt. She had only expressed her concerns about the things that had gone viral on the tabloid stories. He knew if it was him in her shoes, he would me mad at him too. He couldn't help regretting his actions that night at the Thanksgiving dinner. If only he hadn't taken it upon himself to do what he had done, he wouldn't have put her in this kind of situation.
- He knew he had messed up real bad and now she was paying the price for it. Why did it all have to be now, just when he had allowed himself to fall in love with her? The thought of losing her drove him crazy. That morning, he had been so eager to come to work just so he could see her. He had planned to tell her how much he loved her. He had planned to ask her to be his lady. But now, he knew he had let her down, he knew he had let her family down.
- He recalled how they had welcomed him with open arms into their home during the Thanksgiving dinner; how Stephanie's mother had walked over to where he stood and embraced him that morning before they left for the airport. She had been so kind and loving to him. And what had he done in return? He had taken a decision that had brought shame to her family. He remembered the conversation he had had with Stephanie's mother few hours ago, how she had yelled at him so bitterly. He felt really bad.
