• The cab ride seemed to drag on, every second amplifying my anxiety. The streets, the mundane life outside, all felt like a world away from the deception I was about to commit. My hands shook slightly as I pulled out my phone, my fingers fumbling over the keys. I texted Sofia Reeds: "I've arrived at The Blue Spoon."
• Almost instantly, my phone buzzed with her reply. "I'm already here, sitting at a booth near the back, by the window. I'm wearing a green blouse and black jeans."
