Chapter 31 Annie

• I wake up the next morning to find myself in my room. I don’t even remember falling asleep in my room but in the sitting room. I guess James must have carried me here and the thought makes me blush. I hope I’m awake the next time he carries me. Thinking about James makes me smile, I wonder if he has left for work already. I check my bedside table for the clock and see it is almost nine, James must be at work by now. A sad smile appeared on my face knowing that I won’t be seeing his face this morning. I just hope he comes back home for lunch.
• I step out of bed, go to the shower, do all the needful and then shower. I decide to wear a black crop top and shorts since I have no intention of going anywhere today. I’ll use today to properly rest. I’m hungry and it saddens me that I can’t even cook to help myself and I want to change that. I want to be able to take care of myself properly and in the future when I have kids to be able to cook for them also.
• I take out my phone and call Jamila telling her to come over to teach me how to cook because I need to learn how to. I can imagine what would have happened to me if it weren’t for James. I need to be able to fend for myself properly and be an independent woman.
