Chapter 4

  • 【Simon's POV】
  • In my heart, Sunna is a good woman. I like her unconditional love for me, her tolerance and obedience to everything. Because of this, even though I feel that as Luna, whether in the Pack or in the company, she is more of a symbol than a practical role, I have never thought of breaking up with her.
  • But today, she was acting strange. She was like a crazy wolf with a disease, not only openly arguing with me, but even wanting to reject me!
  • After she said that, the invisible thread connecting us was about to break, but at the critical moment, a mysterious force prevented this disconnection - it was the power of the moon goddess.
  • In the Heling Empire, the werewolf clan has absolute faith in the moon goddess. All werewolves who become Mates must hold a ceremony, invite the moon goddess to witness, and receive her blessing. Similarly, if they want to break up, they must also obtain the moon goddess's permission.
  • I am the Alpha, Sunna is the Luna, and the ceremony we need to break up requires a higher specification. It needs to be conducted by the high priest of the Hunterston Grand Priesthood. Only after that can we officially break up.
  • I was angry. Such a thing with two Lunas would indeed make her subject to some criticism. But as my mother said, Caroline is much better than her and didn't refuse. What right does she have to reject me!? And to make such an extreme move!
  • My mother was also angry. She said to me excitedly, "Simon, do you see? This is the Mate you chose. Haven't we been good enough to her? We let this useless woman live such a good life, but she doesn't know how to be grateful! How can we let her continue to be the Luna of the Sky Pack!?"
  • Elis also advised me, "Simon, what right does that woman have to reject you? If you two are going to break up, it should be you rejecting her! You must teach her a lesson and let her know that you are the Alpha, this is your territory, and only you can make major decisions!"
  • Their words made me even more dissatisfied with Sunna's behavior. I turned around and followed her into the room.
  • "What are you doing?"
  • I grabbed her hand as she was packing her clothes.
  • "I think I made myself clear."
  • Sunna's tone was cold and indifferent, unlike anything I had ever heard from her, and she didn't even look at me.
  • "Are you out of your mind? You should feel honored to be Luna alongside Caroline!"
  • I held her chin with my other hand, making her turn her face towards me. "Look at me, is there anything else you're hiding from me? Are you trying to leave me by pretending like this?"
  • She smirked at me. "Simon, do you think everyone betrays their Mate like you do? It's a good thing we broke up, isn't it? Now you can be with Caroline, the Luna you like so much."
  • I furrowed my brows, warning her. "I don't like the way you're talking to me, and you should know that I'm being kind by letting you and Caroline both be Lunas. Now go apologize to my mother and sister, take back what you said, and promise me you won't go crazy again!"
  • "Hahaha!"
  • Suddenly, Sunna burst into laughter, sending a chill down my spine.
  • "Apologize? Simon, why should I apologize!? What have I done wrong that requires an apology? The only person I need to apologize to is myself! I was too naive before, thinking that if I was good to others, they would be good to me. Now I know I was wrong!"
  • Looking at the crazed look on Sunna's face, my heart inexplicably ached, as if something important was about to be taken from my life.
  • My grip on her chin loosened subconsciously, and she easily shook me off.
  • I couldn't help but think back to these years, when I often left things for Sunna to handle, and she did her duty, even though she may not have been the most capable. Perhaps she was just tired - that's what I thought.
  • "Let's have a child."
  • I said to her.
  • Maybe becoming a mother would make Sunna more sensible, and she had always wanted a child. I had always disagreed, but now, by fulfilling her wish, she should know better and stop causing trouble.
  • To my surprise, Sunna seemed to hear something extremely absurd, looking at me with an exaggerated expression. "A child? Simon, you actually think our problem is not having a child?"
  • She shook her head repeatedly, suddenly roaring at me. "No, we will not have a child. I will never have a child for you! It's over between us!"
  • Sunna's behavior made me very angry. I grabbed her throat, squeezing tightly. "Never speak to your Alpha like that! It's only over when I say it's over, got it!?"
  • "Roar!"
  • Sunna roared in anger and transformed into a wolf, breaking free from my grasp. "Simon, you may be the Alpha, but I am no longer your Luna, nor a member of your Sky Pack!"
  • I was stunned. This woman, who had always been gentle as a little dog in front of me, when did she become so wild?
  • Realizing this, my anger surged up and my wolf was restless, eager to come out and teach this woman a lesson.
  • "It seems Caroline was right. I have been too good to you, to the point where you dare to defy me now!"
  • Just as I was about to act, the phone rang, with Caroline's special ringtone that I had set.
  • I took a deep breath, temporarily suppressing my anger, and said to Sunna, "I have something to attend to. You calm down and reflect on yourself. You better know that my coming to talk to you is an act of kindness. If I truly banish you from the Pack, you will live a miserable life."
  • With that, I turned and left. But as I was about to exit the room, I heard Sunna's cold voice from behind, "Simon, we're done. Who will truly live a miserable life after the separation, only time will tell. And I, am not afraid!"
  • 【Sunna's POV】
  • Not long after Simon left, Hoyle and Elis entered my room.
  • "Sunna, since Simon has decided to reject you and you have no objections, go ahead and press your blood handprint here to sever the Mate bond."
  • Elis handed me a document, "This contract to dissolve the Mate relationship is signed. We can now contact the High Priest of the Priestess Group to conduct the ritual."
  • In a condescending tone, Hoyle said insincerely, "We, the Sky Pack, value loyalty. In consideration of the fact that you were once part of the family, we will give you ten million. You can live comfortably for the rest of your life, on the condition that you never harass Simon again!"
  • Ten million?
  • I felt disdainful. The main asset of the Sky Pack, Sky Group, with a market value of billions today, owes much of it to me!
  • But I didn't care. I cared even less about Elis's little scheme to save face by saying it was Simon's decision to reject me. I just wanted to leave as soon as possible and never see this family again.
  • Without any hesitation, I pressed my blood handprint.
  • "Great! Finally rid of this parasite! Once we get Simon to press his handprint too, the Sky Pack will have a new Luna!"
  • Elis looked pleased and quickly put away the contract.
  • From her words, it was clear that Simon was unaware of this.
  • Hoyle was overjoyed and immediately went back on her word: "I've thought about it, and for a parasite like you, giving you ten million is still too much. We'll only give you one million, no, a hundred thousand. That's all you're worth!"
  • With a sly smile, she said to me, "It's too late for you to back out now. You've already signed the contract!"
  • By this time, I had packed up all my things. I dragged them along, holding my parents' ashes, and said to Hoyle, "I won't back out. I don't need a single cent of the money. Just make sure Simon cooperates to handle this matter quickly. But I have to warn you, if you regret it one day, don't come begging to me, because I won't have any mercy!"
  • With that, I left the place where I had lived for so long without any nostalgia.
  • Outside, the sun was shining, the air was fresh, and the world seemed more beautiful than ever.
