Chapter 4 Incidents When Buying An Apartment

  • The next day, James decided to visit a real estate agency known for its collection of luxury apartments. He woke up early, choosing the best clothes from a cupboard that hadn't been touched in a long time.
  • The morning air was still fresh when James arrived at the real estate agent's office. The building looks magnificent with an entrance decorated with elegant details, making James marvel at it. However, as he entered the room, the welcome he received was far from what he expected.
  • The woman at the reception desk, whose nametag read 'Rose', seemed preoccupied with the pile of documents in front of her. The look on her face suggested that she was under pressure, or perhaps just didn't want to be disturbed. When James turned on his best smile and said, "Good morning," in a friendly voice, Rose only turned her head for a moment and answered him curtly.
  • "Yes? What did you come here for?" she asked, her tone impatient. Rose didn't give a welcoming or warm look, she seemed to be waiting for James to give a valid reason, as if she was ready to reject him. In fact, before he even spoke.
  • James, who was used to all kinds of reception, was not surprised by the cold reception. He straightened up, took a deep breath, and calmly explained his intentions. "I'm here to look for a new home," he said.
  • Rose gave James a doubtful look. James' appearance that day may have been neat, but he didn't look like any of Giant Real Estate's usual clients. The worn-looking clothes and the fact that James came without a fancy car gave the impression that he wasn't a serious buyer.
  • Without hesitation, Rose said in a firm tone, "I'm sorry, Sir, but I think you're misplaced. We don't sell cheap apartments here. This is Giant Real Estate!"
  • James, clenching his jaw, was quite annoyed by Rose's treatment. He wondered how she would react after seeing how much money James had. "I know, there are no cheap units here. But, don't you worry. I'll be able to afford it."
  • Rose smiled sarcastically, incredulous. In her heart, she was sure there was no way James could afford an apartment in such a classy place. "You'd probably faint if you knew how much a unit here costs," she said, convinced that James was just wasting his time.
  • Not wanting to argue or waste any more time, Rose pointed towards the exit. "I suggest you look for another place that is more within your budget," she said, trying to end the conversation.
  • James was starting to get annoyed. In his ears came the system voice telling him that James could curse her into ugliness. However, he didn't and still gave her a chance.
  • "Like I said, money is no object," James said, holding back his annoyance. "Now, can you show me the unit for sale and we can get on with the deal?"
  • Rose was an experienced real estate agent, before she wasted time with someone like this, she would do one thing to make this person who was interrupting her work time.
  • "Your name?" Rose asked.
  • "James O'Connell," James replied.
  • Rose began searching for information about James O'Connell on her work computer. She searched various databases and online sources, trying to find out if James was a rich man or a successful businessman. However, after a few minutes of searching, she found nothing. There was no data or information to suggest that James was part of the wealthy or a businessman.
  • Rose sighed. She looked at James and said, "I didn't find any information about you, and the apartments here are very expensive. I think you're wasting my time."
  • James knew that in the human world he was nothing. How could he convince this woman that he had enough money to buy an apartment here?
  • Rose couldn't wait to see James stare at her. "If you don't leave," she said firmly, "I'll call security to evict you."
  • [System Warning: You must get something that is the first target. If you fail, you will lose 10 god points].
  • James growled. How could he possibly buy an apartment here, if the front office was so skeptical of him. Besides, there was no way James would win an argument with a woman.
  • Just as James was lost in thought, the office door opened and a man walked in. The man looked elegant and authoritative. However, there was something strange about him. James noticed a black shadow surrounding the man's body.
  • James stared at the man in confusion, trying to understand what the black shadow meant. However, before he could think about it further, the man suddenly fell and collapsed, clutching his chest with a pale face.
  • Rose, who was previously busy with her work, immediately ran over to the man. She was shocked and panicked, and she shouted out the man's name.
  • "Mr. Adam Spencer!" shouted Rose, her face pale. She knelt down beside Adam, trying to check his condition.
  • James, who was still confused by what happened, could only stare at them in shock.
  • [System: Help that man and you will get 10 god points]
  • James shook his head, he had no experience in helping people in this condition. He had worked in a hospital, but only as a janitor. He didn't have any medical knowledge and he wasn't willing to risk it.
  • Meanwhile, Rose looked panicked. She looked confused, looking for someone who could help. Driver Adam Spencer ran out of the office, trying to call an ambulance before his boss's life flew away.
  • Suddenly, James' right hand glowed. He saw information about Adam Spencer's health condition appear on his right hand. "Coronary Heart Disease," the system said in his ear. This disease is a condition where blood flow to the heart is blocked by plaque buildup in the coronary arteries. This plaque can make the arteries narrow and hard, which can lead to a heart attack.
  • James read that the main cause of this disease is usually an unhealthy lifestyle, such as a poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking and stress. It also looks like Adam Spencer ate the wrong thing this morning.
  • [Death System Warning: 90%]
  • Having no choice, James approached Adam, who was still lying on the floor with a pale face and labored breathing. He reached out his hand, preparing to touch Adam's chest. However, Rose suddenly pushed him away.
  • "What are you going to do? You want to kill Mr. Spencer?" snapped Rose, her face bright red. She looked at James with eyes full of anger and fear. "Get lost!"
  • "I want to help," said James, trying to explain. Just touching this, James already knew that there was a blood vessel blockage, he just needed to open the blockage with his magical powers.
  • However, Rose didn't seem to be listening. She continued to push James, trying to get him away from Adam. "If you cause Mr. Spencer any harm, I will report you to the police!"
