Chapter 11 Big Surprise

  • James held his forehead and was right to notice the red liquid flowing. Freya pulled James up and took him to the living room.
  • "Sir, I'll treat your wound," she said as she hurriedly prepared medicine and bandages for James.
  • "Freya, I'm fine. You don't need to bother like this." James said.
  • Freya protested. "But, Sir, even if you have divine power, your body is still an ordinary human body. If you don't use divine protection, you will also get injured."
  • James only smiled at Freya's lengthy explanation. The girl probably didn't know that before gaining the power of the system, she was a person who was used to getting hurt and had to ignore her wounds frequently. He didn't explain to the girl how much pain he had endured, how many wounds he had to ignore. She just smiled at the girl's concern.
  • Freya cleaned James' wound and finally covered it with plaster. "Everything is done. Now, you should feel better, right?" she asked.
  • James furrowed his brow. "Why are you so panicked, Freya? I only hurt a little. It's nothing serious."
  • Despite James' insistence that he was fine, Freya was still worried. "Sir, if you feel dizzy or like you're going to faint, please let me know. As your assistant, I will help you immediately."
  • James grumbled, "Freya, don't overdo it. I'm fine."
  • He tried to stand up, but Freya asked him to stay seated. "Sir, please lie down first."
  • "Freya, I don't need to be treated like this." James refused, but Freya persisted with her stance, trying her best to treat and ensure James' safety.
  • "Sir, please lie down," Freya said firmly.
  • "Freya, I order you to shift," James said, trying to get up.
  • "I won't. You must rest because you are injured," Freya replied in the same firm tone.
  • James was starting to get annoyed with Freya's attitude. But, the girl even dared to sit on James' lap to prevent the man from leaving. Meanwhile, Julian, who happened to be outside and already knew the door code of James' apartment, chose to enter. He had tried pressing the bell, but there was no answer because James and Freya were busy arguing.
  • Julian chose to enter and he found James and Freya in a position that seemed quite intimate. "Oh, sorry Sir, I seem to have disturbed you," Julian said, turning around with a flat expression. From his observations, it seemed that James and Freya were getting ready to make love.
  • "No-no, Julian, stay right there," James said.
  • Julian, who initially wanted to leave, finally decided to stay. When Freya was caught off guard, James immediately got up and pushed the girl to the ground.
  • Freya immediately stood up straight. Then she smiled at Julian. "Hi Julian, how are you?"
  • Julian thinned his lips, responding to Freya without words.
  • James, though not asked, explained, "I didn't have anything with Freya. It's just that I got a little hurt and she's trying to heal."
  • Freya held up a finger. "I'm doing my job according to my function."
  • James snorted at the girl's words. The two men stood awkwardly, while Freya still seemed to be trying to maintain her professionalism even though the situation was already quite complicated.
  • "Very well, Sir. As long as you have a clear understanding of what happened, I apologize for entering here without permission," Julian said. "Actually, I wanted to go straight in using the system portal, but I was afraid the CCTV footage would catch it and it would become a problem."
  • James just nodded, signaling that he didn't mind that. Then, Julian showed something that he had brought with him. There were two paper bags, both containing suits according to James' order. "I have prepared these. You can choose which one is more suitable to use when coming to Miss Sofia's engagement ceremony later."
  • James took the bag and examined the first one. It was an elegant black suit with meticulous hand-stitched details. The suit looked expensive and of high quality, with fine materials and neat stitching. James touched the fabric, feeling its luxurious texture. He then held it up, examining the details further. He could see that Julian had worked hard to prepare this, and he appreciated the effort.
  • The contents of the second bag were the same elegant navy blue suit. The material used looked luxurious and comfortable to wear, with neat stitching and meticulous detailing. The suit was designed in a modern style while still maintaining a classic feel.
  • James held the suit, feeling the smooth texture of the fabric and the exceptional quality of the stitching. He could see that every detail had been carefully thought out, from the choice of colors to the design of the collar and buttons.
  • James pondered for a moment, considering between the two options. Both were unique and elegant in their own right, making it difficult to choose.
  • "Which shirt do you think I should wear?" James asked Julian.
  • "I think..."
  • Julian didn't have time to finish his sentence. "Sir, why are you asking a man who doesn't know fashion?" Freya interrupted Julian and James. "You should have asked me, a woman who surely knows to judge whether you are handsome or not in that suit."
  • Hearing that, Julian could only smile ironically. He knew that Freya had a good sense of fashion and he also knew that the girl always wanted the best for James. However, her attitude was very impolite. It made him a little annoyed.
  • Julian was almost annoyed by Freya's attitude. The assistant girl was a little aggressive and she often contradicted Julian.
  • "Sir, I think you look good in that blue suit. Your aura will shine through," Julian suggested.
  • "No, Sir," Freya argued with Julian. "I think, since you're attending your ex-girlfriend's engagement ceremony, black would be more appropriate. You'll look mysterious and challenging too."
  • Julian gave Freya a sharp glance. "Black suit? You think this is a mourning event?"
  • "Julian, if you think a black suit is for a funeral, why did you buy a black suit?" Freya challenged.
  • "That's..." Julian suddenly couldn't finish his sentence. He looked surprised and confused by Freya's question.
  • Even though he didn't need to look handsome for Sofia's engagement ceremony, James still had a plan to make the woman who had hurt him regret betraying him. "All right, then," James said, getting up from his spot, preparing to try on the suit Julian had bought him.
  • The first suit he wore was a blue suit. Freya thought it was ordinary, not very good, though it fit. James tries on the next suit, a black one. As James walks out of the room, Freya excitedly points out, "Sir, you look great in that!"
  • James stopped and looked at himself in the mirror. The black suit did look elegant and suited his appearance. He looked handsome and mysterious, exactly as Freya had said. He looked at himself in the mirror, feeling satisfied with his appearance.
  • "Actually, it kind of sucks." Julian had to sigh as he admitted it. "But, what Freya said was true. "You look better in that black suit."
  • James smiled with satisfaction. "Yeah... I also admit that it's the best."
  • James is now thinking to himself. "Sofia, wait for me, I'll have a big surprise for you!"
