Chapter 6 A letter from the palace

• Liliana was finding it hard to accept what Jeremy told her earlier. She was sobbing silently while walking home after receiving a huge heartbreak.
• What could she have done wrong to deserve all this bad luck within a day, The only man she thought loved her just told her he never liked her and her best friend was his fiancee. Was she always so foolish or naive that made Jeremy and Susan take advantage of her or were they actually not at fault?
• Well, she didn't wish her best friend bad but she was not ready to accept her best friend getting married to the only guy she loved. She didn't know what to do after imagining how her wedding day was going to be and how she was going to live happily ever after with Jeremy and now she has to stop dreaming and come back to reality.
• She abruptly stopped and screamed
• "Arhh, what is wrong with you!!" The lady passing by Liliana's side when she screamed yelled out at her.

• Thirty minutes later...
• "Where am I ?" Liliana asked herself when she found herself on a street some meters away from her house, she shouldn't be there, that meant she has been walking around the streets.
• She shook her head and took the opposite direction home.
• When she got home her mother was already waiting for her in the parlor
• "Mama!" She called out with a low voice and she burst into tears while going towards her mother for comfort
• Mrs. Micheal hugged her and patted her back when Liliana reached her side, she could understand her child even though she hasn't experienced an heartbreak like Liliana did she knows what it feels like to be rejected by a man you love.
• "My darling it will be fine," Mrs. Micheal said while patting her back. Liliana released herself from her mother's embrace and said "mama he said he does not like me" her mother knew she was referring to Jeremy so she held her cheeks making Liliana look directly at her " You have to learn to move on, he choose Susan for a reason and you should respect that " there was nothing Liliana could do and what Mrs. Micheal said is right.
• Liliana dropped her head down and wiped her face off
• "I guess you are right mama, I am ready to respect his decision," she said firmly deciding to follow her mum's advice, if that was what her fate said then she had no choice but to let go but instead she promised not to fall for any man again.

• Later in the evening
• A knock was heard on the door of Mrs. Micheal's house, Liliana was the one who went to open the door.
• She opened the door and saw a tall-looking man wearing armor with a sword by his side 'he is probably a knight' Liliana thought
• "Is this Miss Liliana's house?" the guard asked Liliana
• "Yes, and who are you?" Liliana asked him
• "I am here to deliver a letter from the palace" he stretched his hand to give her the letter " A letter!" Liliana repeated while collecting the brown-looking hard paper from him.
• "I will take my leave now" the knight straightened his back and left
• Liliana tilted her head while wondering who could have sent her a letter from the palace, or did she forget something before she left ' ahh yes the fabric she wanted to deliver to Mrs. Queen' all these thoughts were running through her mind
• She closed the door and sat down in the parlor then opened the letter to read.
• While opening it her brother Stephen came in and sat in the parlor "Who was it?" He asked referring to the person who knocked on their door
• "Some knight he came to drop this letter" Liliana answered him and gestured to the letter she was holding.
• Stephen went to sit beside her so he could read the content with her.
• The letter read ;
• "GOOD EVENING OUR ESTEEMED MISS,
• AS APPRECIATION FOR GETTING INJURED INSTEAD OF OUR ALPHA KING YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE UPCOMING GRAND BALL IN TWO DAYS TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY AS A SPECIAL GUEST.
• YOURS APPRECIATED"
• "What!!!" Stephen screamed out that it made Liliana flinch from her sit
• "What the hell is wrong with you" she scolded him
• "I told you it was the alpha king that saved you" he stood up and raised his hands up
• "Stop being so dramatic," she told him and rolled her eyes
• "You still don't believe me even after reading the content of that letter " Stephen scoffed at her and went inside his room
• Liliana read the letter again and thought of what her brother said, since the letter said instead of the alpha king does that mean that man she saw was the alpha king?
• 'oh no she didn't like this' He could have just sent a reward as an appreciation why invite them as a special guest?
• She initially didn't want to go to the ball anymore since the person she would love to take as her partner is now engaged and she didn't want to be the only one without a partner when most of her friends will be there with their partners. But now the alpha king invited her himself which she was feeling uncomfortable about.
• Her dislike for werewolves was making it more uncomfortable, she never wanted to have anything to do with werewolves since the trauma her mother suffered years ago.
• Stephen came out with a bag and a better-looking outfit
• "Where are you going?" Liliana asked him when she noticed the way he was dressed
• "Where else?" He asked only to receive a glare from Liliana so he added "To the market for the cloth I will be wearing to the ball, What of you?" He asked her
