Chapter 80 Echoes Of Trust

  • Ava’s POV
  • The faint light of morning crept through the cracks in the tent’s fabric, leaving thin lines across my exhausted face. Sleep had denied me once again, each minute extending into an eternity as I repeated the events of the previous night in my memory. The battle had been hard, but what disturbed me most was the thought that one of our own had betrayed us. Trust, once destroyed, was a fragile thing, and suddenly it felt like we were balancing on a blade’s edge.
  • I sat up, every muscle in my body protesting. The anguish was familiar now—a continual reminder of the war we were fighting. But I couldn’t let it slow me down. Too much was at stake.
