• Luke screamed, "Don't you dare leave me!" as he grabbed my arm, his grip holding me tight but not tight enough. His warm, sticky blood got all over my clothes. In my ears, I could hear my own heart beating fast, and the world around us seemed to be spinning out of control.
• I told him, "I'm not going anywhere," but my voice broke as I held him tighter. It was too much to see the blood on his shirt, his pale face, and the way he was shaking. I can't handle it.
