Chapter 7 Follow Me
- Eva
- Alpha Lorenzo?" I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. "What are you doing here?"
- Lorenzo's gaze swept over me, his eyes narrowing as he took in my disheveled appearance. His expression was a mixture of surprise and disgust, as if he couldn't believe I was standing in front of him, looking like a mess.
- "What am I doing here?" he repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I think the better question is, what are you doing here, Eva?"
- "It's not what you think, I swear!" I exclaimed, shaking my head, as I could read whatever he was thinking.
- "Then, what are you doing here?" he asked again.
- I hesitated, unsure of how to explain things to him. "I… I just needed a place to stay for the night. I couldn't go back to my apartment."
- Lorenzo's eyes scanned the motel's lobby, his face twisting in distaste. "You can't be serious. This place is a dump."
- I felt a surge of defensiveness, but before I could respond, Lorenzo's grip on my wrist tightened. "What are you doing?" I asked, trying to wriggle free.
- He then released my hand, his eyes never leaving mine. "Follow me," he growled, turning to stride out of the lobby.
- I scrambled to keep up with him, my legs struggling to match his long strides. "Wait, where are we going?" I asked, but Lorenzo didn't respond.
- We burst out into the cool night air, and I could see Lorenzo's car parked by the curb. He yanked open the passenger door and gestured for me to get in. I hesitated, unsure about getting into his car, but the eerie sounds of insects and loud chirping sent me running inside.
- As I settled into the seat, Lorenzo slammed the door shut behind me and strode around to the driver's side. "Buckle up," he ordered, his voice firm.
- I fumbled for the seatbelt, my heart racing with heavy gulps passing down my throat.
- "Where are we going?" I asked in a small voice, trying to hide my fear.
- Lorenzo's response was curt. "My place."
- I felt a surge of alarm. "Why your place? Can't you just take me back to my apartment?"
- Lorenzo's eyes narrowed. "Either you come with me now, or you go back to that dump. Your choice."
- "Okay, I'll come with you," I said, trying to sound brave.
- "But will you accept me as your nurse if I follow you?" I asked abruptly, hoping to clarify things.
- Lorenzo's response was enigmatic. "It depends on you."
- I was taken aback. "What do you mean? It depends on me?"
- Lorenzo didn't reply. Instead, he turned his attention to the front of the car and started the engine. His face was still cold, his expression unreadable.
- I felt a shiver run down my spine as I squeezed myself into the corner of the seat, scared and unsure of what lay ahead. I could only hope that things would go smoothly.
- As we pulled up to Lorenzo's mansion, my jaw dropped in awe. The sheer size and grandeur of the estate took my breath away. I couldn't believe I was actually here, inside the home of the elusive Alpha Lorenzo.
- As we entered the sitting room, my eyes widened further. The room was enormous, with high ceilings and lavish furnishings. I couldn't help but stare, my mouth agape.
- Lorenzo chuckled, a low, husky sound. "Close your mouth, Eva. Something might fly in."
- I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I hastily closed my mouth. "Your place is...wow. It's so nice," I stuttered.
- Lorenzo rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "I get that every day."
- He gestured for me to sit down, and I sank into the plush couch, still trying to take everything in.
- "What do you want to drink?" Lorenzo asked, striding over to a bar in the corner of the room.
- I spotted a bottled water and pointed to it. "Just water, please."
- As Lorenzo handed me the water, my stomach suddenly growled, reminding me that I hadn't eaten in hours. I tried to ignore it, but Lorenzo's sharp ears picked up the sound.
- "Are you hungry?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
- I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But my stomach growled again, louder this time, betraying my hunger.
- Lorenzo's expression softened slightly. "I'll have something brought up. What do you like?"
- I shook my head, feeling embarrassed. "Whatever is easiest is fine."
- Lorenzo nodded and got to the kitchen counter by the bar and started preparing to get to work. "Hold on," he said.
- I nodded, still trying to process my surroundings. I couldn't believe I was actually here, in Alpha Lorenzo's mansion.
- As I sat on the couch, my eyes were drawn to Lorenzo's broad back as he stood at the kitchen counter. He was chopping vegetables with ease, his movements fluid and precise. His shoulders rose and fell in a gentle rhythm as he chopped, his muscles flexing subtly with each motion.
- I couldn't help but be captivated by the sight of him, his focus and skill in the kitchen was mesmerizing. My gaze lingered on the way his muscles flexed beneath his shirt, the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck.
- My breath caught in my throat as I leaned forward, my elbows on my knees. I was transfixed by the sight of his broad back, my senses heightened as I watched him work.
- Wow, this man is so hot, I thought to myself, trying to suppress a smile.
- Just as I was getting lost in my admiration, Lorenzo looked up and caught my eye. I quickly looked away, feeling a flush rise to my cheeks.
- But then, he called out to me. "Hey, Eva?"
- I turned back to him, trying to play it cool. "Yeah?"
- Lorenzo gestured to a high shelf behind him. "Can you grab that bottle of olive oil for me? I can't quite reach it."
- I nodded, still feeling a bit confused. But as I stood up to retrieve the bottle, I realized I had no idea where it was.
- So I took a step closer to Lorenzo, trying to get a better look. And then another step. And another.
- Before I knew it, I was standing right next to him and then he turned to me suddenly, our faces inches apart. I could feel his warm breath on my skin, and our eyes locked in a tense, charged moment.
