Chapter 49 Missing

• The humiliation stung more than the physical pain. I walked into the gathering; my eyes scanned the room until they landed on Sherlock. All the other alphas rose up to pay their respect with their heads bowed but Sherlock was the last to stand and he barely gave a bow.
• He was smiling; we both understood the reason behind the smile. The smile lingered for a while before it slowly disappeared and turned into an expression of worry.
• “Oh my! Looks like the Alpha Supreme too is not immune to an illness. How can this happen overnight?” his hand flew to cover his mouth.
