• I checked the time again.
• Seven hours. That was all Agatha's magic had left. She'd warned me before I entered Black Fang: "Whatever happens, your true identity must not be discovered before the three days are complete." She never explained exactly what would happen if the spell was exposed too early. I didn't ask. I knew enough about magic to understand that warnings from witches were rarely empty.
