- Once Asty had finished her drawing, Bryan went to the study and came back with two elegantly wrapped gift boxes. He set them down in front of her.
- "Daddy brought these back for your two little friends," he said softly. "Tomorrow, I want you to give them to the boys and thank them for watching out for you at kindergarten."
