Chapter 140 The Third Wheel
- Whitney glanced down at Asty in her arms and put on a mask of concern. “I was just worried about Asty, so I came to see how she was doing. I won’t cause any trouble for you.”
- “You’ve seen her. She’s fine. If there’s nothing else, you can head back,” Bryan said flatly, leaving no room for negotiation.
- Whitney’s smile stiffened. She quickly softened her voice and played the helpless card. “I came all this way, and you’re sending me away before I’ve even had lunch? I know you’re still upset about what happened last time—when I accidentally hurt Asty—but it really wasn’t intentional. I’ve looked after her so carefully all these years. I’ve treated her like my own daughter. Can’t you forgive me just this once and let me make it up to her?”
