Chapter 15 : The President is Not Angry

  • The next morning, in the office of the President of Xingchen Group.
  • There was a problem with the contract made by the Engineering Department, and Shen Sichen was furious. Even outside the office, separated by the glass wall, one could feel the icy and heavy pressure inside.
  • Several responsible persons stood there, silent and afraid to make a sound.
  • The video call rang, breaking the suffocating atmosphere.
  • Shen Sichen furrowed his brows and took out his phone. As soon as he saw the screen, his eyes softened a bit.
  • He waved his hand, "Everyone, leave!"
  • The people finally escaped from the office as if they were saved.
  • Since everyone had left, the secretary naturally should go in and bring coffee to the President. But at a time like this, who would be willing to go in and risk getting scolded?
  • "Wancheng, you go! I dare not go in at this time!"
  • "Yes, yes, it's really terrifying!"
  • Lin Wancheng's face fell, "I don't want to, I'm scared too."
  • Finally, the supervisor stepped forward and said, "Alright, Wancheng, the President likes...values you the most. You should go quickly, don't keep the President waiting."
  • Lin Wancheng, who was forced into a corner, reluctantly picked up the coffee and walked into the office.
  • The video call was from Shen Sichen's sister-in-law, and he knew who was on the other side without even answering.
  • "You brat, your uncle is at work, why are you bothering me again?"
  • "Hmph! You didn't come yesterday! You lied! I'm not going to be nice to you anymore!" The voice of his nephew sounded indignant through the earphones.
  • Shen Sichen smiled helplessly, "When I went over yesterday, you were off somewhere playing around. I waited for you for a long time."
  • The child threw a tantrum and started whining on the other end, "I don't care! I didn't see you! You didn't come! You said you would come and play with me!"
  • "Alright," Shen Sichen compromised, "What do you want then? Shall I take you to the amusement park this weekend? And buy you the latest Transformers set, how about that?"
  • The child's crying instantly stopped, and he blinked his big eyes, extending a short little finger, "Pinky promise!"
  • Shen Sichen couldn't help but smile, "Alright, pinky promise."
  • Lin Wancheng, who was trembling with fear, entered the office but doubted whether the people outside had made a mistake - how could the President be angry?
  • She watched as Shen Sichen talked on the phone with his earphones, his face filled with a smile, his brows relaxed, and a small dimple appeared on his right cheek.
  • For a moment, she was a little absent-minded. He looked so handsome when he smiled...
  • Regaining her senses, she walked over gently and placed the coffee on the table, her figure flashing past the camera.
  • Suddenly, her nephew brought his face closer, and on the screen, only his nose could be seen. Then, he shouted, "Sister! It's my sister! She didn't finish telling me the story of the Flower Mouse and the White Mouse yesterday!"
  • Shen Sichen looked at Lin Wancheng, who was leaving, in surprise. "Yunyun, you mistook the person. That sister is Uncle's secretary."
  • "No! It's my sister! I played with her at Grandma's house yesterday, and she even picked peaches for me!" The nephew insisted, his young face full of certainty.
  • Shen Sichen was full of doubt, but after chatting with the child for a while, he ended the video call.
  • After looking at the documents for a while, he felt that something was on his mind. Then he picked up the internal phone and called Lin Wancheng in.
  • "President, you called for me?"
  • Shen Sichen lightly pursed his lips and looked her up and down, "What did you do when you took a day off yesterday?"
  • "I went to visit relatives..."
  • Lin Wancheng was about to answer but stopped.
  • She didn't want people to know that she had any connection with a prestigious family, or even that she was the daughter of the Lin family from Haiyan Enterprise. It would be too ostentatious.
  • She changed the subject halfway through her sentence, "I was a guest! Um...to see the elders and pay my respects."
