Chapter 4 Is That Mr Fuckboy?

  • Hana did rest as planned in her hotel room, but only for a day. She slept for twelve hours and lazed around the rest of the day. However, on the second day, she decided to wake up early. She bathed fast and wore a hooded jacket over her t-shirt, jeans, and a beanie hat. When she tucked her hair behind her ear, a line of silver earrings were revealed. Picking up her face mask, phone, and wallet by the nightstand, she jogged out of her hotel room bare-faced.
  • Visiting her businesses all over the country brought her to Lyvia. Lyvia was one of the most progressive cities in Princil. When she had just started building businesses, she dreamed of having at least one of her businesses here. That was years ago. Now, she had successfully built three buildings and made two of them as condo apartments for rent while one was an office space for rent. Since Lyvia was considered a city that never slept, business was always good to those who were able to squeeze into these crowded blocks. The same could be said for her.
  • Business was not the only reason why she wanted to go to Lyvia for a long time. Dancing always had a spot in Hana’s heart and Lyvia was known as the mecca of hip-hop. A lot of underground and street battles happen in this city each day.
  • It's not that she wanted to compete. She just liked watching people dance in sync. It provided comfort to her eyes which were tired from looking at documents all the time. She also loved the happy atmosphere brought about when everyone just enjoyed dancing to good music. Sometimes, when she successfully sneaked out of Ericka's clutches, she would secretly watch battles here. A lot of those battles allowed betting, which was supposed to be illegal. Hana wagered, too. Sometimes she won, sometimes she lost, and sometimes she had to run away from the police. No matter what happened, it was such an exhilarating experience for her that she couldn’t help but visit again and again. She even made ‘friends’ along the way who became her informant every time the battleground location changed. That's why she always knew where to go despite not being a local and a regular to the events.
  • It was still a bit early for an underground battle to happen when she left the hotel, so she strolled along different streets and ate her heart out. She was carefree, letting her feet take her wherever they wanted, dropping by some malls, and checking out other business establishments. Honestly, she had a little secret that was borderline fetish-Hana loved being the third person, just watching from the side, not involved in some heavy drama just like the one currently going on in front of her.
  • "I told you to stay away from him! You're not the current girlfriend! I am. He already dumped you, so don’t appear in front of him again!" "He didn’t dump me! You stole him away from me, you slut! He didn’t even say a thing to me yet and you what? You decide things for him now? Who are you to do that? You're just another girl he'll dump tomorrow. Stop acting like you're better than me!"
  • It's quite rare for things like this to happen, but she's just so lucky that some people volunteered to fend off her boredom while waiting for the right time to head underground. She was already seated on a bench with popcorn in her hand when the two in front of her started bickering. They were even grabbing each other's hair right now. "Let go of my hair!" "Let go of mine first!" The two in front of her were wearing classy dresses despite going into a low-end mall.
  • Their fight caught the attention of many passers-by and the people already formed a circle around the two. A male student also wanted to see the show. He stood in front of Hana and blocked her view. She tapped his back. "Excuse me, please don't block my view. I was watching, too, and was even here before you." He apologized and was about to leave, but she stopped him. "Where are you going? I wasn't telling you to leave." "But I was…" "You can just sit on the floor. I have popcorn. Want some?" The student smiled at her. He sat on the floor comfortably and grabbed some popcorn from the box in her hand. "Thanks."
  • The two were comfortably watching the women fighting in front of them when a foreign man suddenly appeared to stop the two from fighting. The man stood at one side to scold the two women. "Audrey, Claire, please stop this. People are watching!" The two paused upon hearing the familiar voice. Both of their hands were still grabbing each other's hair. When they looked around, they realized that a crowd had gathered around them. The women's gazes landed on her and the student. Their eyes widened when they saw the two eating popcorn, treating them like a bunch of clowns putting on a show. Their faces reddened in anger and embarrassment. They let go of each other and fixed their appearances. When people realized that the show was over, a lot of them left, but some stayed because just like Hana, they were originally at their places waiting for someone or just chilling out before the fiasco happened. They were the first ones to be there so why would they leave?
  • The two women finally looked at the man who stopped them from fighting. People were not aware at first, but he was the reason why they were fighting. "Zeno, look at this woman! Didn't you dump her already? She still kept on harassing me! Please deal with her!" ‘Audrey’ went to the man named ‘Zeno’ and grabbed his arm. She even pointed at ‘Claire’ while addressing her as 'this woman'. "Zeno, you never told me we're over yet! Why would this bitch tell me that you already dumped me? She's such a slut for flirting with a taken man!" The bickering was starting to get louder once again. New pedestrians were giving the three weird glances.
  • Hana, who was enjoying the show in front of her, found the names familiar. Zeno? Audrey? Where did I hear those names again? She kept looking at the people involved and she found the two of them familiar.
  • Oh, the flirty man and woman from the pizza place! These guys were here, too?
  • Hana looked different from the office woman at the pizza shop so Audrey, who looked at her a while ago, was not able to recognize her. "Let's talk somewhere else." The foreign man did not even touch any of them. He was the first to walk out on them and they followed while glaring at each other still. "I guess the show's over, young man.” It's finally time for her to head underground.
  • Hana was walking alone in an inconspicuous alley downtown Lyvia, casually looking back from time to time and trying her best to blend into the darkness. She pulled her jacket's hood over her head as she neared the location. This time, it was in an abandoned boxing gym located in an area where prostitutes, druggies, and other lowlifes frequent. She put her guard up. Someone might try to attack her when she least expected it. She headed towards an abandoned pharmacy. Inside, there was a secret sliding panel disguised as a wall. She slid that open and squeezed herself inside. That panel was a cover for an old-fashioned industrial elevator, wide enough for two people. She put the panel back and pulled a lever at the right. The elevator went down on its own.
  • Wow. I can't believe I just followed some people's instructions to go to an extremely shady place and trapped myself in this elevator willingly.
  • But it was not a trap, because halfway through the journey, she heard the loud hip-hop songs blasting through the speakers. It took a minute before the elevator stopped with a loud clang. No doors or panels were covering her this time and the one who told her to come to the location this way was able to spot her immediately.
  • "Hana, this way!" Someone screamed over the noise which caught her attention. It was Samantha, one of her 'friends' in this place who told her about the location.
  • In this place, she acted like a shy woman who was just curious about all these dance battles. In front of her so-called ‘friends’, she did not talk that much and they had long accepted her like that. Hana liked it that way. Her 'friends' don't get too clingy to her and invite her to other shady places unrelated to dancing just to 'hang out'. "Hey, Sam. How did you know it was me?" She wondered since she wore her hood up and she was wearing a mask. Hana then proceeded to do a special handshake with her as a greeting. “I don’t know. Maybe because that is your usual style so it isn’t that hard to spot you.” If Ericka saw her boss like that, she would be shocked to find that the crazy, immature woman was replaced by a tomboy acting like she had been 'in the streets' all her life. Acting helped Hana fit into different environments. Using different personas, she was able to befriend people fast and blend in with the crowd. "Has it started yet?" Hana asked while pulling her hood down to scan the venue. "Not yet. I heard people talking about a new part added to the usual program. Maybe that’s the reason why it has not started yet.” **Samantha stood on her tiptoes to look over the chatting people before them when a flirty voice whispered in Hana's ears. "Hi, girls. Fancy some cig?" Hana was surprised when someone suddenly hugged her from the back, she stiffened for a second but she relaxed when she recognized the voice. "Hi, Lacy. Sorry, I don't smoke." Hana then flashed a smile at her. Lacy was also one of Hana's 'friends'. She's flirty but she's nice. "By the way, Lace, do you know about the new thing they added to the program?" "I heard my beau mention it last night." "And that is…" Lacy pouted. "He won't tell me. He said snitches will be punished." **"You should've fucked it out of him," Sam suggested. "I did, it just didn't work." "Well, that just means two things. One, the punishment is grave, or two, your skills weren’t able to win him over." Lacy pinned Sam's neck in a perfect arm triangle choke. The latter was only able to hold out for three seconds before she tapped Lacy's arm. "I…I…give up! Let me go!" Hana just ignored them. They always do this and she’s not surprised anymore.
  • Lacy and Sam were still bickering when there was a sudden commotion at one of the entrances. Girls screamed like fan girls as a man tried to walk inside. They flocked around him and stopped him in his tracks. Hana looked back to her friends and said: "Are you guys seeing this? Is there a celebrity guest?" Sam and Lacy ignored Hana. They stopped playing around and tiptoed just to see if they knew the guy. When Hana noticed they were ignoring her, she turned her head towards the entrance and finally got a clear view of the man’s face. Hana was shocked to see someone she knew. Is that Mr. Fuckboy?
