Chapter 14 The Arrival of the Four Warlords

  • In an instant, his aura surged like a tidal wave, sweeping through the entire courtyard. The wind howled, and the heavens rumbled with thunder. His presence, illuminated by the lightning, was overwhelming and regal, like a king of the mortal world.
  • But Sher just grinned, his face full of mocking disdain.
  • "A broke, pathetic construction worker, as worthless as an ant, actually dares to talk like that? How clueless. Not only are you going to die today, but your whole family is too. I'm going to wipe out your entire clan and use your blood to make up for the disrespect to my family!"
  • Sher's face twisted with rage. He raised his hand and shouted, "Everyone from the Quinn family, listen up! Kill everyone here today, including those sc*m from the Grace family. Leave no one alive!"
  • "Yes!" The shout echoed through the sky, and the 150 troops of the Quinn family sprang into action, charging forward like a pack of wolves.
  • Just then, a roaring sound came from above. Several helicopters swooped in, circling at low altitude.
  • Then, seasoned warriors, known as the celestial lords, jumped down from the helicopters from about 30 metres up.
  • Boom!
  • With a huge crash, the first celestial lord landed, cracking the ground and leaving deep footprints. The earth even seemed to shake a bit.
  • Then there were more loud thuds!
  • Each celestial lord landed, making the ground tremble with every hit. The scene was incredible.
  • All thirty-six celestial lords hit the ground and immediately stood in front of Maddox.
  • "Greetings, Dragon King. We're late in our duty to protect you. Please punish us as you see fit!" The thirty-six celestial lords stood stiffly, each radiating a powerful aura, like gods of death.
  • The Quinns were stunned, their eyes wide with shock and fear.
  • Even the Graces were in disbelief.
  • "D-Dragon King? What kind of existence is that?" Pearce felt a storm of shock and awe in his heart.
  • Sher's face turned pale. His eyes fixed on Maddox, revealing deep fear.
  • No one knew exactly what the title "Dragon King" meant—after all, the Dragon Sealing Accord from five years ago hadn't been made public—everyone present could see that these thirty-six celestial lords were terrifying.
  • Each of these warriors was more than capable of crushing the entire Quinns, and there were thirty-six of them in total!
  • But that was just the beginning. Out of nowhere, a white light streaked across the sky, and a man with long hair in white clothes appeared in the western sky.
  • At the same time, a golden light flashed from the east, revealing a big guy with golden hair in the eastern sky.
  • Then, from the south, a green light shot through, and a tall woman in green holding a sword showed up, floating in the southern sky.
  • Finally, a dark light appeared from the north, and a fierce-looking man with a battle axe emerged in the northern sky.
  • "Your subordinates, Ivory Warlord!"
  • "Golden Warlord!"
  • "Azure Warlord!"
  • "Obsidian Warlord!"
  • The four figures floating in the sky, each radiating an intense aura, spoke in turn. Then, they each saluted towards Maddox.
  • "Greetings, Dragon King. We're late in our duty to protect you. Please forgive us!"
  • Phantom also saluted and said, "The Quinns have defied authority, and their crimes are unforgivable. I, Phantom Warlord, request permission to go into battle and wipe them all out!"
  • "Four Warlords ... They're the legendary Four Warlords. The powerful protectors of our nations' four borders. And those thirty-six celestial lords—they're all under Maddox?" Pearce's mind was overwhelmed with shock and disbelief.
  • Everyone in Aetherian Kingdom knew that the Four-Way Warlords were the strongest guardians of the nation's four borders, holding a position far above the border kings. Yet, even these four warlords were only subordinates of Maddox!
  • The Dragon King of Aetherian Kingdom had such a terrifying status.
  • The Quinns were all as pale as ghosts, a cold shiver running up their spines, and their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
  • "The Four Warlords. They're the Four Warlords! And these thirty-six celestial lords—these top figures in Aetherian Kingdom—are all just under that person. The Dragon King ... That person is actually the Dragon King!"
  • Malcolm, Sher, and the others kept muttering, their legs trembling uncontrollably. Fear and despair were clear on their faces.
  • Forget about the Four-Way Warlords or the Dragon King—just the thirty-six celestial lords were way out of the Quinns' league. And yet, they had the nerve to threaten to kill the Dragon King, wipe out his family, and even destroy his entire clan!
  • "At ease!" Maddox said, waving his hand.
  • "Yes, Dragon King!" The Four-Way Warlords and the thirty-six celestial lords, who had been saluting, all dropped their salutes at once.
  • Maddox then slowly turned his head, casting a cold, commanding gaze at the Quinns. He asked, word by word, "Now, are you still planning to kill my whole family and wipe out my clan?"
  • At that moment, he looked like a mighty emperor, with presence and authority.
