Chapter 10 The Eastmarch Evil Dragon

  • The two old guys from the War Council Hall, dressed in traditional attire, were thin and frail. They exchanged a surprised glance when they heard the news.
  • After a moment, the man on the left let out a deep sigh and said, "After five years, we finally have some news about him."
  • Outside the War Council Hall stood a grand monument inscribed with: 'With a long blade and swift horse, he conquered the world; and a thousand miles of battlefields stained with blood!'
  • This perfectly summed up the Dragon King's earlier years—once a legend of the Aetherian Kingdom.
  • One of the old guys asked, "The Dragon King's Eight Great Warlords are heading south, so it's obvious they're going to welcome him back. But why are the thirty-six celestial lords also getting involved? Seems like overkill just for a welcome."
  • Another official stepped up and said, "Gentlemen, there's important news about the Dragon King I need to share."
  • "Go ahead," the two old men said at the same time.
  • "According to the reports, the Dragon King has been hiding out in Streamhaven for the past five years, with his powers sealed. He's been working on construction sites. Recently, the Quinns in Streamhaven, coveted the Dragon King's wife's beauty, captured her. The eldest son of the Quinns even went as far as to lock the Dragon King's daughter in a dog cage, humiliating both mother and daughter in the most degrading way."
  • The room went silent.
  • At that moment, the room became deathly quiet.
  • The faces of everyone present were filled with intense rage!
  • In the past, the Dragon King single-handedly defeated millions of enemies and guarded the nation's gates. It was hard to believe that such a legendary warrior's wife and daughter were being treated so disgracefully!
  • "This is outrageous!" the two old men slammed their hands on the table. "There's no negotiating with such madmen—kill them all, no mercy!"
  • The official who had spoken earlier added, "There's more to it. We've discovered that the Quinns have now gathered all their forces, and it involves the Eastwater Pavilion as well. Another family in Streamhaven, the Grace family, is also implicated.
  • "On top of that, the Streamhaven Inspection Office is involved too. It's become a huge mess, which is probably why the Dragon King called in his thirty-six celestial lords!"
  • The two old men frowned and thought for a bit before asking, "Have you checked out the Quinn family's background?"
  • "Yes, I have. I have a detailed report here."
  • "Don't bother showing it to us—just read it out!" The two old men were clearly upset.
  • The official gritted his teeth and said, "The Quinns are like the local tyrants in Streamhaven, doing whatever they want, bullying men and women, and committing every kind of crime. Victor Quinn, the eldest son of the family is especially wicked. He's already responsible for multiple deaths!"
  • "D*mn it! Such local tyrants who have done so much evil are utterly unforgivable!" The old man was furious.
  • "They certainly deserve to be punished, but the Eastwater Pavilion is involved with many ancient martial sects. What's the current situation with the Eastwater Pavilion?" the other old man asked.
  • "According to the intel, the Quinns' second son is a disciple of the Eastwater Pavilion and is currently leading two Eastwater Pavilion stewards to Streamhaven. The higher-ups in the Eastwater Pavilion probably don't know about this."
  • The old man nodded and said, "It seems like the higher-ups in the Eastwater Pavilion aren't involved; otherwise, things would probably be much more complicated."
  • The reporting official asked, "Things are getting quite serious in Streamhaven. Do you think we need to do something to assist the Dragon King?"
  • The old man on the left, upon hearing this, couldn't help but laugh in anger. "The Dragon King's seal has been lifted. With his Eight Great Warlords and thirty-six celestial lords already protecting him, what more do you need to do? Do you think the Dragon King can't handle a small family in Streamhaven?"
  • "You're right, but if we just let things play out, I'm worried the Quinns in Streamhaven ...
  • "That d*mned Quinns—they deserve to die!"
  • The two old men suddenly sighed deeply. "Over the years, we've let the Dragon King down too much. Now that he's coming back, let him have his way for once. You don't need to worry about it. Just tell the Lumoria Inspection Office to pull their people out of Streamhaven!"
  • "Got it," the official said before turning to leave.
  • "It doesn't look like this is a carefully planned move by someone behind the scenes, but we still need to be cautious."
  • The two old men waved their hands and said, "Order all four regions to go on high alert and secure the borders. Keep a close watch on anyone entering the country to make sure the Dragon King doesn't get ambushed by foreign enemies after he's revealed himself!"
  • "Understood!" The officials quickly saluted and went to work.
  • Meanwhile, on the other side of the ocean, in a secret white castle in the country of the Wolfsong Kingdom. Five men sat at the head of a meeting table, cigars in hand.
  • "According to reports, the Dragon King from the Aetherian Kingdom has reappeared. Let's discuss what to do next. Should we decide to send someone to assassinate him?" the elderly man with curly hair and blue eyes at the centre of the table asked in a deep voice.
  • "I agree with sending someone to assassinate him. The Dragon King has just reappeared, and right now, he doesn't have any guards around him. Plus, he's been sealed for five years and hasn't fully regained his power—this is the perfect time to strike!" said a burly middle-aged man through gritted teeth.
  • "Even without guards, according to my sources, the Dragon King's Eight Great Warlords and thirty-six celestial lords are already heading his way. Clearly, now isn't the best time to act. Aetherian Kingdom will definitely be on high alert."
  • "I don't think we should make a move right now either. That Eastmarch evil dragon has been trapped for five years—he's probably not a big threat anymore. Plus, our people have made huge advancements in that time, so we don't need to fear him anymore!" said another high-ranking figure.
  • "In fact, the Dragon King was out of the game five years ago. He's not a real threat to us now. Our real problem is the witches from Frostwitch Kingdom!"
  • The leader in the centre nodded slightly. "In that case, let's abandon the plans to assassinate the Eastmarch evil dragon."
