• Zara took a small step back, keeping her smile in place even though her heart was pounding. The two men in front of her didn’t look angry exactly, but they definitely weren’t friendly. The one in the plain black mask was shorter and stocky, while the other was taller with a sharp chin visible below his mask.
• “I’m really sorry,” she said again, voice steady. “I didn’t mean to interrupt anything. It’s my first time here, and everything looks so nice at night. I got a little lost in the paths.”
