Chapter 3

  • Um, why is Hayes glaring at you?" Jake asked Mila at the table.
  • “I guess he likes what he sees," she said loud enough for him to hear.
  • “Ha! you wish, I'd rather stick it in a hole than to fuck you, Ms fakey," he replied in the same tone, loud enough for everyone to hear.
  • There were murmurs of 'burns' and 'she deserves it' but she masked it with a dry laugh.
  • “I'll bet the hole doesn't get STDs from you since you can't help but stop sticking it in every skirt you see," she smirked at him.
  • “Scowls don't look good on you, Miller." she winked at him.
  • “At least I get laid, but you never have ever since Ace Smith, does that ring a bell?" he laughed walking off.
  • Ace was a sour topic for Mila and her friends. He was a past she wanted to keep buried, but it seems that won't be the case anymore now that Hayes had brought it up.
  • The whole cafeteria went silent as Mila and her friends walked out.
  • “You crossed the lineman," Austin spoke up.
  • “She started it and I am finishing it, besides what's your problem?" Hayes asked, getting mad.
  • “His problem is that Ace raped her, he forced himself on her and you know that that's not something to joke about." Mike chimed in.
  • “She shouldn't have started what she couldn't finish." he arrogantly added as Nina dumped a cup of coke over his head.
  • “That's for being a douche." she picked up her phone and walked off with Natalie.
  • “Hey, are you okay?" Willow asked her friend. They had ditched school after the cafeteria incident. Aaliyah was going to hitch a ride with Kiera.
  • “I dunno, it's just ---" she was short of words.
  • “Why the hell would he bring that up?" Khalil angrily asked.
  • “I started it, he just wanted to get to me and he did." Mila defended.
  • "No, you didn't. You didn't bring up any of his buried past in this so why did he?" Jake asked.
  • “No need for blame games, just let it slide." Mila wrapped her arms around her body.
  • “Sleepover tonight, you, me and Aaliyah, maybe one of her friends too." Willow left no room for argument.
  • “I'd love the company." she smiled at her friend.
  • “We gotta go, take care of her Willow." Khalil hugged his friend and left with Jake.
  • Willow: Hey you've got plans tonight?
  • Aaliyah: Just hanging at home with Vanilla, why?
  • Willow: I was wondering if you girls were up for a sleepover at Mila's?
  • Aaliyah; That would be great, I heard what happened. Is she alright?
  • Willow: She would be.
  • Aaliyah; Okay, I will see you later.
  • “Texting Aaliyah?" Mila asked.
  • “Yeah, she'd be here with her new friend, Vanilla," Willow informed.
  • “Are you hungry?" Willow asked, sitting beside her.
  • “Yeah, let's go down to get something to eat, at least food would keep me sane," she smirked as they descended the staircase.
  • Hayes had looked for Mila and her friends all over the school but he couldn't find them. He had wanted to apologize for what he said earlier.
  • He knew he had crossed the line immediately those words came out of his mouth. As much as she was at fault, no one should be reminded of something as horrible as that.
  • His phone vibrated as he answered his call. It was from his kid sister Vanilla.
  • “Talk to me," he added, frustrated.
  • “Hello to you brother," sarcasm dripped from her tone.
  • “What do you want V?" he asked again.
  • “Nothing, I just called to tell you I am going for a sleepover at Mila's house, she's my friend's sister's friend, her sister invited us over to keep her company because you couldn't keep your fat mouth shut." she fumed.
  • “Whatever, have fun." he dropped the call on her and walked to his car. His friends had gone home without him since he had football practice. They usually wait for him, but they were too mad at him to do so today.
  • “I guess it's me ---
  • “Hi, Hayes, can I hitch a ride with you?" Star, one of the cheerleaders asked. She was hot and had sexy curves.
  • “Of course you can." he bit his lower lip as she
  • joined him in the car.
  • Maybe it wasn't a bad idea the guys didn't wait nor were Vanilla going for a sleepover. It's me and you babe tonight. He thought to himself.
  • “Where do you get off?" he asked after a while.
  • “I was thinking about your place," she unbuttoned her top.
  • “Next stop, Hayes Miller's residence." he drove faster as Star's giggles could be heard as he drove on, turning him on.
  • “That must be them," Willow said as she got the door.
  • “ You never told me your sister was the president of the dance team and her best friend the co-president." Vanilla blurted out.
  • “You must be Vanilla, come on in." Willow ushered.
  • “Yeah, Vanilla Miller and before you slam the door in my face I'm sorry for what my brother did, he's just a jerk. Not really a fan of his though." Vanilla confessed.
  • “It's okay hunny, come in," Mila said as the girl came in letting out a sigh of relief.
  • “Thanks, I've not found luck making friends as soon as they find out Hayes is my brother. I've got mates, trying to hook up with him, sorry Aaliyah for not telling earlier. I really don't know what they see in him." Vanilla added.
  • “Not to be rude or something, have you seen the guy, he's hot...except he's the biggest jerk alive," Willow stated as a matter of fact.
  • “Pffff....I've seen better." Both Mila and Vanilla said.
  • “Jinx, you owe me a drink," Vanilla said.
  • “Are you serious?" Willow followed Mila into the kitchen.
  • “Yeah, Khalil's way hotter, bummer he's gay," Mila told her.
  • “Khalil is hot, but Hayes hotter...no point for arguing on this," she said carrying a bowl of caramel popcorn to the parlour, it was large enough for a sleepover.
  • Mila brought the drinks, chips and sweets to the centre table. Vanilla and Aaliyah had gone upstairs to have their bath and freshen up.
  • “Hey, are you feeling better now?" Willow asked.
  • “Much better than before," she smirked.
  • “Of course you do, girls, the movie marathon is about to start...what the heck are you both doing up there for so long?" Willow screamed at the top of her lungs.
  • “Jeez, calm down. Mama called and I was talking to her." Aaliyah joined them with Vanilla in tow.
  • “What did she want?" Willow asked.
  • “The usual, hello, hi, I sent some money bye talk." Aaliyah dismissed the convo.
  • She wasn't really a fan of her mom so was Willow, their mom hadn't been there for them for a while.
  • All she cares about was work, here, work there ana new arm candy for the week.
  • Willow had been like a mom to her baby sister, she was there for her every step of the way and she always is. She was glad to have her as a sister. The best in the whole world.
