Chapter 28 6 The Green Room

• The green room backstage was supposed to be empty after the show. But the three of them knew it wasn’t completely safe. Crew members were still packing equipment just outside the door. Voices and laughter could be heard in the hallway. The risk made everything feel electric.
• Jax locked the door, but they all knew it wasn’t enough. Anyone with a key could walk in at any moment.
• Riley stood in the middle of the room, her heart pounding. She was still wearing her stage outfit, a short sparkly skirt and a tight crop top. Jax and Zane looked at her like hungry wolves.
