• Everyone is a suspect, so she wonders if it was a coincidence that she was there the same day she was taken. She decides to Google the events she knows her father would typically attend.
• The Autumn Ball was a few days ago. She clicked on images, scrolling through six before she spotted her father. He’s shaking hands with some people in one photo; in another, he is standing at a podium; in a few pictures, he is with the chief of police, who is making a speech.
