Chapter 16 His Name

• “Breathe, Eloise.” Pierce ran his strong hand over her back. “You’re getting too much information too fast. You’ve been through a lot, and your body and brain need time to catch up. I promise I’ll answer all your questions in time, but that’s it for now.”
• He is right; it is too much. She started to sob.
• He pulled her into him, holding her close. His smell engulfed her. It’s been years since she had a man hold her, other than her father, and it feels nice…almost safe.
