Chapter 24 Another Clash

• Sylvia and Leo arrived at the club, the loud music hitting Sylvia like noise she did not care about. Her heart was already heavy, her chest tight with anger and shame. She did not wait for Leo. She walked straight to the bar, her heels hitting the floor hard, as if she was punishing the ground for her pain.
• “Give me something… strong to get rid of my sorrows,” Sylvia said, dropping her bag on the counter. Her voice shook slightly, but she tried to sound firm.
• “Yes ma’am,” the bartender replied.
