Chapter 105 The Judgement

  • A ripple of contempt cut the hush as one guest stepped forward, voice sharp and sour. “Hey, you!” he barked, glaring at Logan. “You—useless man! You think you can stroll in here and still throw words? Do you have any sense at all? You march into a place where men of honor meet and pull your charade?”
  • Dennis jabbed a finger toward the cluster of high officers. The crowd parted slightly as Logan’s gaze flicked to the five titans standing like statues at the far side of the hall. Field Marshal Voss’s jaw tightened; Admiral Cade’s eyes narrowed; Grand Marshal Wei’s smile thinned; Commander-General Okoye watched with the same unreadable calm as ever; Lieutenant-General Varela’s posture remained stone-still. They had come for business, not spectacle — and Dennis wanted them to see, to judge.
  • Logan turned back to the man as if the insult were mere background noise. He didn’t look offended. He didn’t look surprised. He only folded his arms, an almost casual gesture that made a thousand knives of silence press into the room.
