Chapter 14 Dark Eyes Of A Beast

  • Jared's Pov "I'm sorry." He said finally but he still did not look sorry at all. Instead, he looked angry and his apology felt like an insult instead. My anger was beginning to get the better of me but I had to refrain from doing anything. Aiden was acting differently which was strange so it was only wise I didn't push things further. I would show him who the boss was when we got to the packhouse. "Follow me!" I turned around to leave. I could not wait to melt out some punishment on this prick but that would be after my father had handed him over to me. I could not wait to teach him a lesson. I was going to make him suffer, I was going to make him beg and plead, I was going to make him crawl and wish for death. But no, I would not give it to him yet, I would make sure he dies a slow and painful death. I would make sure to knock that silly smile off his face. But to my surprise, Aiden didn't follow me as I ordered, instead, he asked me a stupid question. "Where to?" "You don't get to ask me that!" I growled, my eyes glazing up but the idiot didn't look fazed, instead, he shrugged. "I would not ask if it was someone else. But you. . ." He shook his head. "I won't go anywhere with you. Not when you beat me up dirty. How am I sure you aren't asking me to come along with you so you can do the same?" He folded his arms, his brows raised. "You idiot!" One of the gammas I had brought along advanced forward but I placed my hand on his chest, stopping him. I was beyond angry but at another thought, this could be to my advantage. He was openly disrespecting me and this was a crime so we could hold it against him, tagging his action as rebellious. Then, my father would have a justifiable reason to declare him a rogue without anyone thinking we were being unjust. A smile graced my lips at that thought and I decided to rile him further so he could go on with his disrespect. "The alpha sends for you." "I don't believe you." "Aiden!" His mother, the only sensible person present, cautioned but the asshole was not listening, instead, he kept his eyes trained on me. "Are you in any way insinuating that I'm lying or are you calling the great Alpha Lundamous a liar?" "I didn't say that." He frowned, the arrogance in his eyes vanishing. "But you implied it, didn't you?" "That's not what I meant, Jared and you know it." He snapped at me, his thick brows knitting together and furrowing. Gasps filled the air at his words and I began to hear the omegas mumbling words to one another as they watched. It infuriated me. I could barely hear what they were murmuring about but it felt like they were jeering and making fun of me. Unable to control my anger anymore, I rushed to Aiden, hitting him hard in the stomach and tripping him down. He fell with a thud and I pounced on him before he could get up, throwing punches at his face as he tried to dodge my blows with his hand. My claws were out and I knew it wasn't right to fight him with it especially when he could not defend himself but I did not care. I wanted to hurt him. I was now very angry and I could not control myself. My wolf was at the edge already. My claws tore at Aiden's wrist but he made no sound even when that must have hurt like a bitch. I could still remember how loudly I had cursed out when I mistakenly scratched myself. Then suddenly Aiden began to laugh even with blood trickling at both sides of his mouth. "Hit me!" He laughed. "Come on, hit me! Do it!" My eyes narrowed at that and I lifted my fist to punch that laugh away but I felt a grip on my arm and when I turned, I saw his mother holding me, her eyes swollen from her tears. Angry that she would even dare to touch me, I pulled my arm from her grip and smacked her hard on the face. It sent her to the ground. "Don't touch me, bitch!" I cussed. Then just like the speed of light, I found myself on the ground and Aiden on top of me, his eyes had turned a different shade and he began to rain down punches on me. He looked really furious with his eyes clouding up. I gasped at the sight, my mouth falling open as I stared right into his eyes which were suddenly mismatched. His right eye was a shade of gold while his left eye was black, as dark as darkness itself and it spoke of all things evil. These shades were a shade I had never seen before and from the slit in them, I knew it was the eyes of a wolf. But what kind of wolf? I did not think I had heard about any wolf with mismatched pair of eyes before. I gasped again, too dazed to even protect myself so all his blows landed on my face. All I could concentrate on was his eyes and the thought that Aiden wasn't wolfless as we had all thought. Two gammas rushed to us, both holding Aiden by both arms as they tried to pull him away from me but something strange happened. Aiden shoved both of them effortlessly and they both fell to the ground with a thud. It was surprising. Yeah, Aiden was muscular but somewhere, I knew his physical strength had nothing to do with this. It seemed like strength from within like something was powering him up. "Don't. You. Dare. Touch. My. Mother. Ever. Again." Aiden said in between blows but before he could continue, he was ripped off me and was tossed to the ground roughly by four gammas, the ones Aiden had shoved to the ground helping out. While two helped me up, the other four held him down even when he was kicking furiously. His eyes were back to normal now and it made me wonder if I had been hallucinating. Had all that even happened? Had his eyes really changed? Too embarrassed to even speak, I turned around and stormed out of the area, with the gammas dragging Aiden along.
