- The room's happy chatter and laughter stopped as two soldiers came in, their uniforms perfect but their faces serious. Their boots tapped against the marble floor, a big difference from the gentle music of the strings playing in the corner.
- My eyes naturally went to them as they walked right up to George. He was standing near the main table, his big shoulders stiff, talking to a group of friends. The soldiers bent in, said something to him, and I saw the quick flash of anger on his face.
