• It was 3 at dawn when Luis woke up to the sound of his phone on the night stand vibrating. He groaned in annoyance before reaching for it. He saw Brad, one of his dad's bodyguard’s number flash on the screen. With a quick swipe, he answered the call, bringing it to his ear. His father's bodyguard calling him at this hour meant there was an urgent matter.
• “Wha…” Luis opened his mouth to speak when Brad's urgent voice sounded.
• “Young boss, we were returning from the trade at the border but got ambushed on the way. Your dad and his right hand, Diego, have been rushed to the hospital; their current situation is bad.” Luis suddenly sat up, causing the petite woman lying in his arms to shift, but went back to sleep clutching the pillow he placed in her arms.
