Chapter 11 "I Want Her In My Bed"

• The first place Clara went after successfully escaping was the amusement park. It had been a long-cherished dream for her, a place she had yearned to visit ever since she was a child. She had asked her parents to take her there on several occasions, but they always denied her requests, citing her fragile heart as the reason. Even after she received a new heart, their concerns persisted, and they continued to forbid her from indulging in any potentially strenuous activities.
• They were apprehensive about the possibility of her having a relapse. So they prohibited her from participating in activities that might cause her stress. Not only were her outings restricted, but she was also denied the opportunity to train alongside her siblings.
• Whenever she voiced her concerns about the importance of being prepared, her parents reassured her that she had guards to protect her. As a result, Clara had always been accompanied by her guards wherever she went. This suffocating level of supervision left her feeling utterly powerless. But she couldn't do anything about it.
