Chapter 88
- KAIDA REED POV
- I watched him, my heart thumping hard in my chest as I waited for a reaction. I'd told him everything, every impossible detail about my first life, my death, waking up again, and everything that had happened since. I didn't know what to expect from him after finally hearing the truth. He was probably thinking that I was insane, right? He might even think my trauma was the reason I believed I'd lived a past life, that my mind had created something impossible just to cope with everything I'd been through. And I've had a lot of trauma.
- I gasped, my eyes snapping to his as he gently took my hand. The sadness in his eyes had my stomach twisting in horrible waves, and suddenly, I wished I hadn't told him. Not because I regretted trusting him, but because I hated seeing that look on his face. I didn't want my pain to become his, especially since he already had so much of his own.
