Chapter 44 Fix It
- The item landed with a soft clack on top of the first aid kit, and Kael just stood there, watching her quietly. His face was unreadable, eyes like gray ice as Aura dropped to her knees and started searching through the box. Her fingers, trembling just a little, moved fas, like she knew if she stopped to think, she might cry or scream or both.
- Not long after, she turned to face him. In her hands were the things she needed to help him, cotton, antiseptics, and gauze. She didn’t say anything at first. Just stared up at him, her brows still tight from the climb.
- Kael looked down at her hands, then muttered flatly, “Your hands are muddy.”
