Chapter 12: His Betrayal

• Her eyes couldn’t focus as she slowly turned her head to look at him to see whether he heard her or not. She saw his concerned gaze fixed on her. He rushed something out and hung up, then immediately signaled the driver to stop.
• It didn’t even fully stop before she rushed out and released all her guts content onto the side of the road. She drunkenly pushed her hair from her face as she took in huge breaths of air. The cold wind felt so good on her skin. Evonne felt something cool press on her cheeks. She looked up to see Seth offering her a bottle of water. She took it gratefully, struggled to open it, then let out a cry of frustration and handed the bottle over to Seth.
• Luckily he understood her and opened it up for her. She drank it messily, rinsing her mouth and gurgling water, then spitting it out. She staggered upright and headed over to Seth, tossing the bottle into the grass.
