Chapter 48

• Harold stepped out into the crisp morning air, his mind filled with sadness as he thought about how Daniel Edward had maltreated Laura. As he walked out of the guest room, he came face to face with Daniel in the hallway. Harold noticed the fake smile on Daniel's face as he strode towards him, stretching his hands upwards and yawning.
• "Harold, you're up early. I hope you slept well," Daniel said in a pretentious tone.
• Harold replied, "I did, Daniel. I'll be leaving this morning, but I just wanted to grab a glass of water first." He smiled and shook Daniel's hand.
