Chapter 49 That Fast

Chelsea was caught by surprise since she didn't expect Wendy to call her. Why would she call me out of the blue? Is she going to assign a new job for me? Or is she going to vent? No matter what the case was, Chelsea was infuriated, and she didn't want to handle all this menial task for Wendy anymore.
She was going to end the call, but Liam stopped her. “She'll know someone's in here if you end the call right now. Since you're her secretary, she must have heard your ringtone a hundred times. End the call right now and she'll know you're in here. Don't forget she saw me taking the meds, and don't forget you're a woman too. Then there's me, her ex. If she somehow connects the dots, it's gonna be a disaster for you.”
Chelsea froze. She didn't end the call right away since she didn't want to invite unnecessary trouble. Even though they didn't do anything, staying in the same room alone was already hard enough to explain.
