Chapter 26

• Rose spoke confidently with him, which got him confused after they handed the phone to her. He wasn't expecting such a response. He seeked the usual fear in her voice whenever he raised his voice at her, but this time it wasn't there.
• Somehow he felt his ego challenged but played cool. After all, her response seemed very honest. He first asked why she left his calls unattended to, which she bluntly replied with “I was in the bathroom”.
• For some seconds there was silence at both ends. “I will call you back on your phone, I won't have my sisters make any sort of mockery out of me” he reasoned and hung up. Rose reached for her phone in her bag and just like he said, he called.
